I would lean toward the clogged/inoperative pump. Naturally, make sure that the shut off solenoid is working correctly. Then you can dive deeper. Since the pump is mechanical, aside from the shut off, it should still pump out the same amount of fuel whether it's in time or not. I've seen 6.2s...
That would be the easiest way for sure.
You're welcome.
I've seen several of our oil pans dented. Some like this, some not so bad. 4X4 or 4X2 didn't seem to matter much so I'm guessing that the low hanging oil pans are a tempting target for people with a less than average IQ.
Here's my opinion. You already know what it takes to do a D60 swap and what a headache it can turn into. Unless you really need or want to do the swap, I think I'd leave it how it is. You're in Texas and if you sell the truck, chances are that it will probably stay there. With the lack of snow...
I took a round trip of about 200 miles to the south west to see a friend today. I was a little late getting on the road and stayed a little later than I had planned to. It had been dark for over 1 1/2 hours before I left his house to head home. I still LOVE the new lights!
Lucky you! I had one driver slide a small envelope almost completely under the doormat by my front door. I usually use the one on the side next to my driveway. I glanced and didn't see the envelope. After filing a complaint with the Ebay seller, I FINALLY found the envelope after the driver...
Plus you'll get extra air cooling from that big tank and the long lines/hoses. If you do get any heat soak, you can always add a heater core in one of the hoses to get some additional cooling from the air.
After some though on this, I want to expand my answer a little bit more. This is all from the driver's seat so I have no idea how it looks(ed) from the view of oncoming traffic. I tried some cheap LED replacement lights in my truck in the past. Those did scatter the light something horrible. I...
I don't know. It was the first time that I had them installed. I do know that they're bright enough that they'll annoy me. I'm a jerk. I figure that if they're going to blind me, I'm going to blind them back. That's at least half of the point of me running LEDs in the first place.
A few years back, I installed LED lights in the upgraded lights from LMC Truck/Bronco Graveyard in the Blue Truck. One bulb was bad from the start. The high beam worked fine, but the low beam wasn't very bright and the light beam was out of adjustment. I adjusted the light so that the high beam...
They are 12V. The two batteries are for more amperage. Only the military Chevy/GMCs were 24V, unless there's something special that I don't know about.
It was a kind of cool video. It didn't take me long to think "wherever that's at sure gets A LOT more rain that we do here". The engine also may...
If you were happy with the way that the 6.9 worked, then why bother to switch wiring harnesses? Just put 6.9 glow plugs in and use the harness that was built for the truck. I've been doing that in my 85 F250 since 2015.
That's what I'd do first. Other than possibly buying a wrench to sacrifice, it's free and relatively easy to do. It may solve your running and smoking on acceleration issues. Also, by installing a new set of injectors and not touching the pump, that will retard your timing. If your timing was...
You're right. I have the Harbor Freight version. Then you get into holding up the valves. You're looking at putting the piston at TDC or putting air into the cylinders which I didn't want to dive into. Not to mention that, after all of that, you will have to fight to get that compressor around...
"Rods" usually refers to the connecting rods. So if you mean the push rods, then the answer is yes all of them assuming that you're planning to remove the valley pan as well to access the lifters.
Not really. They are if you have a way to remove the valve springs with the heads on the engines...
That's cool. It's the first mention that I've seen of anyone planning to do this. Please let us know how big of holes and plugs you end up with. I'm not planning on doing this, but it certainly would be worth seeing just to satisfy my curiosity.
I'm pretty sure that the degree specs are different for the lumi method that the pulse/timing light method so I can't comment there. It's set at 2000RPM for the pulse method, but I don't know about the lumi method. Sorry I couldn't have been more help.
