    DTI Tech Time on the way!

    I decided to purchase the DTI Timing light , because I am not having much luck with the probe. Do I need to bring the engine up to 2000 rpm with the timing light to get a proper adjustment ? any other tips on using the light ? Thanks.

    Yes , I did not have the problems some have had getting it in. i used a card pushed it all the way in them pulled out the card. I checked that it was going in far enough. I might try moving Pieso clamp right above injector , and make sure its running 2000 rpm.

    I have used a few ,but mostly Stanadyne & PS Diesel Kleen. lately the PS Diesel Kleen , every tank full gets a dose. Also I have never turned up the fuel or done anything with the pump. Dont run my tanks below 1/4 tank , for the most part. Also still running a Machanical lift pump.

    My truck has not been going to high idie , at least not right away. I bought a new high pressure temp switch , i see it threads in just behind thermostat , my question is do I need to drain off some coolant or is this switch on the oil side of the block ? thanks for your help.

    Yes, its clean and it all works with lights. Thanks to Cluster Fix. As for KM to Miles you guys must be using the dollar conversion, that would be 248548.477 miles.just getting broken in.

    I have to agree, never give up on these Trucks. I have been keeping mine going since new , there were times when I almost gave up on her, 400000 KM later I cant believe what a reliable Truck it has been. No major Engine or Transmission work done,still running strong.

    I had my wiring harness for Cruise Control replaced, there is a recall on our trucks,risk of fire. Harness plugs in beside brake reservoir.I have 1994 IDI Turbo Diesel.

    No hot start issues here, had that problem a couple years ago,replaced the starter and it was golden.I do use fuel additive ever fill up,no major engine work to date,nothing done to transmission. pretty sure its going to out last me.

    Almost embarrassed , mine has original fuel pump & injectors 394000 KM / 244820 miles. Starts first time, I get a little smoke on start up. Runs great ,I'am sure its down on power from new, been planning to renew them for a while.
