speeds while towing
size of the trailer you are pulling effects it as much if not more than the weight. Strap a flatbed trailer with cement blocks for a total weight of 12000lbs will pull much easier than a 10k lbs travel trailer or 5th wheel camper.... The wind that the camper grabs is a killer.... trust me... I...- argve

check your connections first, you might have made an error during rewiring - I've done it before on many things - even when I was swapping over one wire at a time - did it a couple of weeks ago on a PLC Analog Card - felt like a fool but it happens......- argve

New gp controller
and it's not a circuit breaker that is in the glow plug controller. Can't be because a CB works off of current and heat - meaning that with 8 good plugs the current draw would be higher (lower overall ohmic value to the circuit) so you would have more heat generated in the CB. Actually it uses...- argve

Actually the glow plugs are in Parallel meaning that if one goes out the others will still function. In a series circuit if one burns out then none of them see voltage or current. You are correct in that one glow plug burned out will shorten your burn time this is because of this...- argve

New Truck
Past history with the auto's that dodge produces leaves a lot to be desired. In that the older diesels they've had tons of problems with them (automatics) but I've been told that the newer ones don't have much problems anymore. If it were me I would shy away from the auto and go with a manual...- argve

Wow I missed this post back in Dec.... must have been asleep at the wheel.... both trucks are purdy. Haven't seen a GW in a long long time that looked that good. Heck truth be told it's been a long time since I've seen a GW even on the road around these parts - all of them have rusted away...- argve

automatic reliability?
Dodge automatics.... RUN don't walk.... When I was looking for my first Cummins I researched and dug through tons of data... what I found was the auto they strapped behind the 12v was rated for less hp and tq than the engine produced.... can we say planned failure.... either swap it for a manual...- argve

can you grab a few more pics of the interior? Like more of the dash straight on. Looks like it's missing some knobs on the HVAC / Cup thrower area. HELP! 5.9 Sputtering out...
Is your fuel filter clogged? Mine would do just as you describe when she was starved for fuel and swapping the fuel filter did the trick on more than one occasion... Also gelling fuel will do it as well. I haven't had problems with gelling fuel in years because everything that comes from the...- argve

I worked with a guy that did a lift on a 2wd and put big tires around it... I asked him why???? and he said it was for looks only because he didn't go off roading but like the looks of a lifted truck.... He said it was like he did on his other trucks - he was known for lowering them and did it...- argve

video store closed because of weather... I did actually find a set in my manual - it being new the pages were crisp and stuck together. I only caught it when I was noticing the page numbers jumped... so it appears it's there... I just knew that they didn't include it... I mean every truck has...- argve

Head studs after you hit 50psi boost. but since you have her down I would just do it, just remember that with studs if you have to yank the heads (which you shouldn't) that you will have yank the engine because in the dodge chassis the fire wall will keep you from lifting the heads off - the...- argve
