Update. New switch fixed the problem. Looked pretty new too must have been a dud part. Also reverse light problem was a small exposed wire on the truck side of that same harness.
Thanks for the help man. Ill probly just head down to the parts store and replace it. Being as though ive been chasing this reverse problem also. I see now that the switch does both and im having issues with both
My truck wont start unless i wiggle the automatic gear shift. Would you guys think that would be a bad switch in the column? Im getting worried cause its getting worse and im not sure how that system works. I just assume theres contacts when you put it in park that allow you to start the truck...
I guess i forgot to add. I havent actually wired in the new lights just bolted them on! So does it come out of the big mechanical selector on the side of the trans? Like when you select reverse it closes points?

So i had a leaking fuel heater so i did the 1/2” plug fix. Well i was tying back the heater wire when this fusible link just lit up and broke off. It runs through that plug to the blue wire on the other side. Where does that wire go to? Truck was running when it happened.
