Is this the water pump I want

I think my dealer wants $150. But I'd rather $150 and truck down the road another 100k than have to replace it again soon (the one on it was put on by the PO, and is less than 20k old).

    DMF FAIL?? Help please

It could be either, but if it were me I'd replace both (or lucky mod the flywheel, and replace the clutch) while I was at it. Unless the clutch was recently replaced or something. Definitely go with a single mass flywheel or lucky mod, and its a good time to go with a 12 1/4" or even a 13"...

Parting or complete black 93 ext cab 7.3 ats ZF5 dually

I left my inspection cover off when I did my clutch, so I can look up in there every now and then without dropping the up pipes and check on my Lucky Mod bolts on the flywheel. The only reason I'd bother with one is if I was off roading to keep it from digging into dirt or mud or something and...

    Possibly moving north....

I went by Moscow on a road trip a few months ago, though I was in the wife's Jetta TDI. I wouldn't sell the IDI just because of the altitude (2500 ft ain't much). A turbo would be nice, but not absolutely essential. In my experience, PSDs can have more trouble starting when not plugged in -...

Parting or complete black 93 ext cab 7.3 ats ZF5 dually

There's a two wire plug on the top side of the trans, which tells the reverse lights when to come on. I need the plug and wire on each end, at least 6" or so on each end. Mine is shot and falling out all the time. If you'll sell, how much?

Bad rear tank- need help please!

^^^ Yes. Air could be getting in somewhere between your rear tank pickup and including the FSV. However, I've had a lot of air in my lines before, and never noticed much, if any, white smoke result. It just runs really rough like its not getting enough fuel (cause its not). You may indeed...

    Quick Question Re: ZF5 fluid

2 gallons x $15/quart = $120 which is really more like $160 with shipping. So I'm saying you can get a used trans for $360-$480. Here is one for $250. http://louisville.craigslist.org/pts/2814931408.html You may have to look but they can certainly be had in the sub $500 range.

    Quick Question Re: ZF5 fluid

I've been running Mobil 1 Full synthetic 10W30 for 15k miles. One guy said that the detergent motor oil allows lots of little bubbles to build up in the oil, providing inadequate lubrication for the synchronizers. I've been wanting to change it for synthetic ATF, as that is what the factory...

    RDT into exhaust

I went to the link and thought, oh, $.90/foot isn't bad at all, man FordGuy100 must be really cheap.... then I noticed "Length Measured By INCH." You ain't kidding it isn't cheap!

    Quick Question Re: ZF5 fluid

Is this http://www.amazon.com/Royal-Purple-01320-Performance-Transmission/dp/B000BQ78H6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328881539&sr=8-1 what many people put in their ZF5? I see people refer to Royal Purple a lot, but there are lots of kinds. How about this...

    Oil leaks are officially fixed.

Where are the trouble spots on these engines? I've got some I need to track down but there's so much its hard to know where its coming from. Oil cooler is number 1 on the priority list.

    RDT into exhaust

Oh, and thanks for resurrecting this thread. I've done many searches and never seen it, and it is the only one I've run across where someone has actually done it.

    RDT into exhaust

I will start off saying I have zero experience in actually using an exhaust system to draw vapors out of the crankcase. However, I do know that a venturi works by increasing the velocity of the exhaust stream, which creates a localized region of lower pressure at the venturi tip, which helps...

    Does this look healthy?

A new fuel system and some glow plugs would make it run great is my guess.

Question about an old style banks

http://www.oilburners.net/forums/showthread.php?t=48021&highlight=style+banks+turbo Thats how I did it. The rectangular airbox is a huge pain to remove and reinstall, and since it covers practically everything on the top of the engine, you have to do it a lot. So I got rid of it entirely.

Holley mechanic fuel lift pump? Fan Clutch?

You can get 1/4" MPT x 3/8" barb at any plumbing supply place. It won't cause any significant restriction. The ports on a factory pump are a compression type I believe.

Holley mechanic fuel lift pump? Fan Clutch?

Wow. Thats tempting. If it does indeed fit our trucks. I have a brand new carter that puts out only 3 psi. I was really hoping for more. Still haven't decided if I'm going to send it back and get another. Truck runs great on 3 psi, I just want more. The holley looks nice. Looks like you...

    Fuel pressure regulator

I believe I read that Heath is running 13 psi without a hitch. RLDSL also did a test, checking timing with fuel supply pressures and found that it doesn't change at all.

    couple noobie but important ?s

If it won't leak past your seals like crazy, the synthetic will help a ton with cold starts in Canada (but you already knew that). How many miles have you driven in the month? My truck requires 2-3 quarts between changes, maybe even a little more. I have some leaks I need to fix. I check...
