I highly recommend picking up a timing device such as this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/DTI-Tech-Time-3300-S-Diesel-Timing-Tachometer-Tester-Draf-530-HMMWV/291925919893?hash=item43f8240895:g:kIEAAOSwal5YE5ww
I purchased one and it worked like a champ once I removed a small metal retainer...
Well I hate to admit any degree of stupidity but this time my 1/4 Polish ancestry got the better of mecookoo:frustrate:idiot:. Over the last year my truck just didn't seem to have the same pep and I drive the same roads and hills so any gain or loss is usually noticeable. Now I did have two...
Unless I read right past it, have you checked your battery cables and grounds? I had an intermittent issue that was all due to one bad ground. Easy fix.
I would have to completely disagree with this^^^^, no offense. If you install the proper Beru/Motorcraft plugs, all wiring is proper and...
FWIW I had a driver side window stuck issue for a while. Since I don't have a driver-side door panel I was able to reliably "fix" the motor by beating on it with the butt end of a large screwdriver whenever it got stuck, usually all the way up or all the way down. Replaced the motor and worked...
I don't have an answer but I suspect multiple issues. Your lower rad hose has a spring in it which might explain the crunchy feeling. Is there a different color or smell to your exhaust? Burnt coolant should be noticeable but I've never had that problem so I don't know. Depending on where that...
Couldn't agree more, and at the risk of kicking a wasps nest I would apply the above statement to people immigrating or emigrating from other countries. Not racist here but I do believe that when a person chooses to move somewhere else that it is their responsibility to adapt to the new...
+1 for the flatbed especially if you can still use the dump hardware. I always felt the 4 door longbed DRW looked more balanced with a flatbed, and you won't have to ever worry about those wide hips catching on anything. Out of curiosity, how much $$$ the ol' girl set you back?
Figured it out. Around the middle of the mag probe is a thin piece of metal that collapses as you insert the probe and I guess it's there to hold the probe in place but it was preventing it from inserting fully. Once I removed the extra piece of metal everything worked just perfect. Turns out...
Not sure I would know. I cleaned out the hole with a drill bit and worked a paper towel in there to clean it as best I could. A drop of wd-40 to help get the probe inserted. It's a tight fit but seems right. I slid a piece of sandpaper between the damper and timing plate to try and keep the...
I've been trying to time my pump using the Tech-Time 3300-S unit but no matter how the mag probe is positioned I cannot get a reading other than -20.00, which is an error code meaning the probe is positioned incorrectly or a connection is bad. I cleaned out the hole for the pickup and sprayed a...
When your engine starts in the morning does it run fine for as long as you need it and the problem ONLY appears after you shut it off? I ask because a guy I know had an issue with a chipper that looked like an IP problem but turned out to be the fuel system was drawing a vacuum in the tank...
It might be worth cleaning the connection for the vac sensor on the filter header. FWIW mine was coming on with high RPM but after cleaning it the light only comes on if I turn off my e-pump and the IP is doing all the work. Of course I don't actually know if the sensor is functioning properly.
Might as well do the water pump if it's high miles. Pretty sure when mine started to leak a bit past 300k that it was the original pump. Heck the original vac pump went 315k. Motorcraft anyone?
Spectre makes a relatively cheap intake hose kit. Think you get 3-4 feet of 4 inch plus 2 couplers. Yes it can be cut. I ran some dryer hose for a while but it sure is flimsy. YMMV.
The only "resistance" related brake light info I am aware of has to do with the RABS system. Basically if there isn't enough resistance in the brake light circuit the "brain"(?) seems to think that the tail lights are out and at 36-37mph the ABS light comes on and the RABS is deactivated. Lots...
I guess I'll chime in here. NOOOOO Facet! Yes I do have a Facet installed on my truck and it does seem to keep up with an N/A pump turned up 1 flat. For a while my filter light was coming on if I tried to pull a hill with the RPMs up near the governor but I cleaned the connection where the...

I would think that between the two links above a person could put together a fairly nice intake. I'm toying with the idea of ditching the stock filter(But keep the filter housing.) and...
With a hydro conversion I thought the brake pedal also needed to be swapped or modified. I think u2slow is on it with "match the components". I've looked into the hydro swap using parts from the OBS era and I do recall the pedal and MC need to be swapped and I think the power steering pump...
