    Still smoke issue

Got it. All of my IDIs are bolt action...I didn't even think about FIPL being out of spec. I haven't looked, but there's probably something the "Tech Article" regarding FIPL adjustment/troubleshooting.

That was helpful! The whole forum appreciates it, I'm sure. Perhaps "facetime" would be a better fit for you.

    Still smoke issue

Spike in RPM is usually associated with air intrusion. At one point, I had "the perfect" air intrusion on the '93. Hard acceleration was causing air to enter the fuel system at the FSV. Result: It felt a little like hittin' the NOS button on a gasser. It was kinda' cool, until the air...

Help with unconnected wire under the hood, ‘94 F350 7.3 IDI turbo diesel.

If I've got the correct wire, it goes to the sensor on the drier.

Help with unconnected wire under the hood, ‘94 F350 7.3 IDI turbo diesel.

I don't remember where that goes. I'll be home tomorrow... I'll take a look and let you know, if you don't get an answer before then If you're in a hurry, AutoZone site has wiring diagrams.

I'd like to help you understand. Replacement mechanical pumps are (generally) c**p, these days.

5.5 mm (.217 Inch) Bore Scope (to inspect timing gear alignment)?

Hello Ladies, Gentlemen and F ***n' Robot, It's been a minute since I've had the IP (timing) gear cover off of one of our trucks. Do any of you, robot excluded, know if a bore scope (5.5 mm max diameter) will get me past the IP gear and the cover? I remember that the "putty knife/plumber's...

    Throw out bearing noise?

Not to be argumentative, but I've had a different experience with several "cheap" TOBs over the last few years. They "chirp" with the pedal out at idle and when driving...stop "chirping" with the pedal depressed. Regarding the "pulse" that's felt through the shift lever ... that's a new one...

    Door Hinge Hardware Question

Jeez, I really and truly hate the violation of my 1A rights that this robot is committing. If I knew how, I'd give it a "taste" of my 2A.

    Door Hinge Hardware Question

Based on the number of views Vs. replies to your question, I believe that I'd invest in a set of "thread checkers", if I were you. For me, it's been "one of those tools" that I hated to spend money on, but has been useful on NUMEROUS occasions.

    Serpentine Belt Squealing

It does sound like you should drain/flush and refill you PS oil. Maybe consider an inline filter as well. Additionally, I've had zero luck running the belt that the part robots call for. I've been using a shorter belt. It works great but it's definitely more challenging to install.

Milwaukee Battery to Run IP / Wiring ?

The link that I posted, for the "stepdown" is advertised as working with the kids' cars. With the information that you shared, I believe that I can make that work pretty nicely . Thank you again.

Milwaukee Battery to Run IP / Wiring ?

Man, I wasn't really even thinking of getting home . I just wanted to get (all of us) off of the side of that 2 lane road. Turns out that 17 miles would have gotten us to an abandoned fuel station...not great, but better.

Milwaukee Battery to Run IP / Wiring ?

Pretty funny. I've wanted to try this idea since I was stranded in BFE Oklahoma. I drove an '03 F150 to Ft. Smith, Arkansas, with my equipment hauler and dog in tow, to purchase an IDI. I bought the IDI, swapped the trailer over and loaded the F150 on the trailer. The IDI slung the...

    Overhead Gauge Cluster

It's looking good sir! Just in case that you're interested in my $2 (5 years ago it would have been my 2 cents), I believe that I'd consider lowering the profile as much as possible. Additionally, if you haven't checked the McMaster-Carr website, they have hinges that may inspire you.

    Electrical issue

Alright sir, I'll agree that "it ain't hard". It is, however, an a** whippin' for me. I ran around the truck, for the better part of two hours, testing and re-testing ... still had a draw. It turned out to be the fusible link to the GP controller.
