    Maybe a 911?

5/8 inch wrench. Loosen the lines to the injectors. Floor it and crank 30 seconds at the time. Don't burn up your new starter. That's what I do. Fills the pump and the lines.

    Maybe a 911?

Dog house? This is a van. Clip your test light to the wire you want to test. Run it through the dog house and ground it to the engine. Test light doesn't care which way it goes. My truck has both a solenoid on the starter and a solenoid (relay) on the left fender for the starter. I don't know...

    Maybe a 911?

Passenger fender, you have a starter solenoid there? Test for voltage on the wire to the S terminal when the key is turned to start. Jump from the S terminal to the battery side with a wire. If no power in start, it could be ignition switch or neutral safety switch. If power in start, it's...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Did a little trash hauling. 13k on the scales. Everytime I tow I want to install my turbo. Everytime I take a pic I want to take off the side molding. Shocks are definitely on the top of my list

    Looking for fusible links!!!!

@IDIBRONCO very interesting. Doesn't make a lot of sense but I have no doubt it happened. That wire shares the battery connection at the starter relay right? Anything getting power from the alternator should be getting it directly from the battery.

    Looking for fusible links!!!!

The front wire on the driver's side should be red and green. It turns on the fuel for the injection pump. It is right next to the fuel line brass port and is on the top cover. The rear wire on the driver's side is the cold advance The wire on the left side in front is the high idle. It's a...

    Looking for fusible links!!!!

Cold, all three wires have power. You only need to run a wire from your battery to the shutoff solenoid to make it run..... Cheaper than a new truck payment

    Looking for fusible links!!!!

Do you have a 7.3 glow plug controller? Is it working? Does the wait to start light work? Trace the red with green to the engine harness connector and check both sides for power. Do the same for the black with pink wire.

    Looking for fusible links!!!!

I think he's looking for the location on the truck. Most of mine are off the starter and glow plug relays. Looks like, based on the pic @franklin2 provided, there are also two off of the headlight switch. What isn't working now that you think is fed with a fusible link?

    Bullnose trailer plug

I didn't find a hot. I did find a loom heading halfway down the passenger side containing a very small air line and a wire. I guess the PO wasn't lying when he said he had an illegal train horn. I also found a paired 12 gauge. Looks like they brought that forward, used one for the brake...

    Bullnose trailer plug

I need to start hauling (and using) a dump trailer. My 7 pin connector has 6 wires running to it. There's no batt + that I could find. My 6 pin connector also has no batt + Looking at the controller and the 7 pin, they were both wired in with scotch connectors. I'm guessing that the 4 wire in...

3g swap didnt work as planned.

That's how to wire it. If his charge light is not providing voltage, the alternator won't charge.

    Another Hard Start Thread...

I just use the clear stuff from home Depot. It's only a temporary install for testing. The rest of my hoses are black, off the shelf diesel rated hose from Napa. I think it was 3/16 on my 6.9 caps

3g swap didnt work as planned.

Run battery power to the I terminal and test output voltage. There's a very detailed thread that was posted recently that goes through some testing scenarios.

    Another Hard Start Thread...

Temporarily replace the return line on the filter housing with clear vinyl hose. That should quickly show you if you have air. I moved away from the cloth covered hose for my return lines. I didn't think I was getting good life from the hose in the kits and I can get replacement hose off...

    Brake problems

Randy Please see if the master cylinder ports are open when the pedal is relaxed. First little press of the pedal, the fluid will flow INTO the m/c until the seals cover the ports. Do this with the engine off and separately with it running. A bad booster can cause the pedal to not return fully...

Knocking at higher end rpm ?

Driving with the cold advance still on will do this in my truck. I'd check your timing if you weren't running with the cold advance on.

Anyone running Jet A with stanadyne mixed in on their 6.9

I put two stroke oil in my fuel for lubrication. Does it work? I don't know but it makes me feel better.

    Water separator?

The reason I ask is Wes has said that 35 gph isn't enough for a mildly modified idi. Looks like the racor is rated at 30gph.

Can you guys tell me about my new 6.9

It sounds like you are getting enough fuel if your exhaust can hit 1100. In your pic, on the right side, you have the wires to the fuel shutoff solenoid and the cold advance. You can see those two connections in the top of my pic. Trace that loom back towards and around your upper hose...

    Water separator?

They suck air through the drain hose. There is more than one idi running around with a bolt shoved in the drain line. I'm curious on sizing the racor unit. There's no issue with the 1/4 npt ports on there?

Can you guys tell me about my new 6.9

Back to your original question. You have pod gauges? Any chance one of them is a pyrometer? Exhaust temp is a good indicator of fueling. Low exhaust temp under load would show low fuel delivery and you would see reduced performance.
