    Zf5 synchros

Great ! That slight difference in viscosity really helps...I'm sure you noticed the difference from the old ATF compared to the PZ

    Zf5 synchros

The 1-2 shift might get better as the PZ works it's way into the sychronizer cones

    Power Burst

    interesting....try unplugging the ICP sensor

    Zf5 synchros

calls for 3.4 quarts but going the full 4 won't hurt anything if filling through the shifter.

    Zf5 synchros

redline is about 2x expensive as PZ

    Zf5 synchros

I run it in all my manual transmission vehicles/equipment. ATF is too thin IMO and with worn synchros the slightly thicker fluid could help get some more miles out of it. Best bet is to fill through the shifter (much easier than pumping into the top plug on the case)

Try running pennzoil synchromesh instead of ATF

    Power Burst

If you're guessing on the ICP sensor, just unplug it. It will set the SES light defaulting the PCM to a set number for oil pressure. See if the problem continues before buying a part to throw at it. I'd bet on the TPS going wonky IMO...does it do it with the cruise set at 40mph ?

    Power Burst

So with ZERO pedal input (not holding it steady at 40mph with pedal pressure) the truck will accelerate on it's own???

    Broken fpr spring

If the truck is running good I wouldn't do anything until I can get a replacement spring. The bb fuel pressure mod is overrated in my opinion.

    OBS Low brakes

If your HVAC is stuck on defrost that's a sure sign of a HVAC related vacuum leak

sounds like your still loosing vacuum

    96 F250 PCM IDM Question

If you're going from auto to manual, it's probably 1 wire for the reverse lights that you'd have to splice in. The auto harness connections can just sit there connected to nothing.

fuel stem check valve....remove that junk!

I'm talking about the check valve in the filter stem, not the ones in each head. This check valve is only there to make sure you can't run the truck without a filter. In my case it was jammed or mostly closed to where it was limiting fuel pressure beyond the filter.

fuel stem check valve....remove that junk!

not sure, haven't checked my 97. Fuel bowls are VERY similar though.

fuel stem check valve....remove that junk!

So my 99 with 260k miles on it has occasionally had a loud injector (or two) coinciding with "choppy" acceleration. Fuel pressure was spot on under load (measured at the fuel bowl), UVCH good, injector buzz test passed, etc. Turns out the "idiot proof" check valve in the fuel bowl stem was...

    96 F250 PCM IDM Question

As stated the IDMs are interchangeable. The problem is going to be finding out what box code the now removed PCM had. There are ones that are compatible with each other....and being an OBS there were less "variations" to the PCM box codes. You're probably going to have to swap the entire...

    No Battery charge gauge

It was never a "real" gauge to begin with. I'd look into the scangage2 if you're on a budget....you can program it to show up to 4 parameters at a time. On my truck is shows voltage, HPO pressure, oil temp, intake temp.

    More 7.3 OBS troubles.

Most of the time it is something simple on these trucks. I'd take this opportunity to upgrade to the larger stancor relay...and even go one step further to put a 12v LED in the cab wired to the glow plug side of the relay so you can visually see when the plugs are energized.

Are you still getting the WTS light when turning the ignition to "on" ?

    Torque converter/flexplate noise?

Did the flexplate on my 97...was cracked all the way around the 10 crank bolts. Made a awful racket at idle but went away with any pedal input. It is possible to remove and replace the flexplate without removing the transmission and transfer case from the vehicle. I was able to unbolt and...

    More 7.3 OBS troubles.

No. You can crank all day long and the PCM will never cycle the glow plugs a second time. WTS light only occurs when the PCM is powered up (key to on) for a set period of time based on a number of parameters mainly oil temp.

    More 7.3 OBS troubles.

are you getting the WTS light everytime you attempt to start? If so that proves the PCM is getting power. if it was my truck, my next move would be to remove the passenger valve cover (easiest) and look for oil coming from the injector spouts...that would prove that the CPS, IPR, ICP, IDM and...

    More 7.3 OBS troubles.

Can you link a video of the start and stall condition you are experiencing? I just noticed that you stated the WTS light comes on when the engine stalls....that to me indicates an electrical problem related to the "ignition" system. Any other issue (including electrical sensors) wouldn't show...
