Not sure where you're at in the Mitten Greg, but I've prolly got a few floating around as well too.

    HOLY CAM!

IMHO, running high rpms and floating valves may have been a contributor there as our IDI lifters are hydraulic. That's a first to see a typ4 cam having valve to piston contact.

    HOLY CAM!

Noticed a huge difference on the butt dyno after installed one in my buddy's bull Moosed 6.9. Definitely will vouch for Russ' cam upgrade as well.

    Lift pump replacement time

Yeah, they've got a weep hole and can leak out onto the valley. May check the big banjo nut to see if it's tight. Seen a couple over the years loosen up from the vibrations. If the pump comes out, be careful to not cock it and break off the plunger down in the valley. Could make for some...

    Neglected 6leaker.....

Blue tooth OBD2 adapter and the torque pro app for your smart phone are cheap. Always good to have someone who knows the 6.0l working on it. Makes night and day difference. Seen plenty of hack jobs over the years by people who've attempted to work on them. But of your local dealer has a good...

    Neglected 6leaker.....

I'd honestly just change the fluids and filters yourself. Much cheaper. Install a coolant filter and grab a scan tool setup to monitor ECT and EOT's. If they're within their <15 degree deltas, let er rip taterchip and enjoy. Most oil cooler failures I see start happening around the 100k mark due...

I voted KY as well but thinking the time frame may be an issue for us. But will see how things pan out. A lot of changes coming in my dept this next year. Some good, some unknown. Either way, I'm looking forward to hanging out with you weirdos again. :D

That's hilarious Gary. We stayed backed that day as Karen is a bit colostrphobic. LOL

    Obs column shifter replacement?

Easy peasy. Column drop and access to the lower retainer bolts are right there. Good time to swap the shifter bushings then too.

    eventually...

Agreed. Love mine to death literally. LOL Selling it over a ruptured EGR cooler is mere foolishness. A Dorman cooler and labor will still run in under $1k repair. I've had my hands on one that had over 264k on the odometer and had NEVER been cracked open until I had to replace an injector. It...

6.0l driving me up a wall please help

OK good deal. Ipr duty cycle is just about twice as high as what it should be at operating temp idle, but I think we need focus on why the PCM popped a 0603 while it was running.

6.0l driving me up a wall please help

All of the replacement FICM's are 4 pin. But if you've replaced yours, the PCM needs to be flashed to sync with the FICM.

6.0l driving me up a wall please help

Make sure Ficm Harness connectors are all snap locked in firmly and ground wire attached to manifold stud. Sounds like the main FICM harness isn't totally connected.

6.0l driving me up a wall please help

I'd advise against flushing by that method as you're going to get messy high pressure oil out those bleeder ports if you intend to purge that way. Best to remove the rails and empty thru the ball tubes.

6.0l driving me up a wall please help

Holy CRAP!!!  You need to pull the oil cooler and check the status of the HPOP sump screen before you go any farther!! That IPR valve is done for. You've got contaminants getting into the HP oil system and that right there is causing the starting issues as the pintle in the IPR valve...

6.0l driving me up a wall please help

If that's cranking psi, then you've got enough to fire the injectors, but that number is still low if cranking. Sounds like you're still dealing with a HP oil leak. I'd suspect the upper injector orings and or the oil rail ball tube orings as well. That year doesn't have dummy plugs but they do...

6.0l driving me up a wall please help

Should be able to hear where the air leak is coming from. There's a really small oring under the J tube to HPOP fitting area. I've seen those blow out before or if they replaced the J tube, then the oring may have gotten pinched.

First Gen Banks Turbo Kit Questions

I ended up with one from an E4OD trans and had to make a custom up pipe for it. With the angle of the collector, it wasn't an easy fix as I also had to grind one of the tabs off the trans to get enough room for the up pipe to fit and even then I had to squish the pipe to make it work. Wasn't the...

First Gen Banks Turbo Kit Questions

That's why us old guys are here to help you youngsters out. ;Sweet The early pedestal flanges have a bit different angle on the collector opening and the Y pipes are different to accommodate the trans size differences.
