I just ordered Bilsteins for the rear of my truck (F350 height)... I think they are the same as the F250? My F250 shocks are on it now and fit with no trouble when I did my D60 and bigger blocks in the rear.
I was quoted $180 EACH for the Bilsteins in Canada (Carquest). Ordered them on Wed...
I couldn't find it either. Best fix is put in a D60 :rotflmao
I did find an article on line stating that if your boot is good the seal is redundant.
Edit: I bet if you took the old one to a bearing shop they should be able to match something up. I have an old CR Seals catalogue at home...
To troubleshoot this I put some plastic tie warps through the axle cardigan; there is no way the stub is spinning in the spindle, so the needle bearing is not the problem. I pulled the hub all apart last night, grease smelled 'off'. I flushed everything out, bearings look OK (have seen a lot...
YES! :hail The frequency does not seem to be dependent on wheel speed. No idea why the spindle bearing would do this if the hubs and t-case are unlocked but this would be easy to test. I will put a plastic tie-wrap through the knuckle to stop it from turning (assuming it is) - if the noise is...
I have a strange problem that perhaps someone might be familiar with. My D60 has a a very loud and heavy vibration from what sounds and feels like the front left. I seems to come and go, it started out smooth this morning, hit a little bump and then the loud growl and vibs. Swerving left...
POP tester accessory
So I made a little accessory for my pop tester. My truck has a little shake to it and I suspect a fouled injector; the only problem is you have to pull all eight, make a mess of the return lines, etc just to find ONE faulty one.
I had some 1/8" tube (the stuff I had...
I just googled around for Viton stuff and found this... https://utahbiodieselsupply.com/biodieselfuelhose.php
Can you use SS over teflon? That stuff is readily available and you can get ends crimped on.
Great tip! I also recommend ordering your self a bag of Viton o-rings from mcmaster carr. The return line kit is great but if you have to disturb the return lines at any time it is nice to know that you have a large, cheap collection of replacement o-rings. Size is #111...
I have a line on a "mint" turbo that is supposed to fit. I don't know much about these, other than seeing if the wheel has a lot of play; any insight or suggestions for me when I go see it? Seller says I need to get my own oil lines (supply and return) which I am not worried about... and need...
I would double check the sensor; you should be getting AC voltage out of it and that voltage will increase with RPM. Be a shame to tear the dash apart only to find out your sensor or connector was bad! I think dash cluster ground is a common problem.
Here is a nice thread that might help...
laserjock shock picture as promised. If your lower bracket is at and angle I think hitting it with a torch and lining it up would be best. The bushings on my shocks line up perfectly, bolt slides in easy peasy
My electric gets power from the IP fuel shutoff; as long as your pump doesn't draw too much you will have no issues using that. I also installed at three way switch, keyed on, off, on (straight to battery). I shut this switch off when I am leaving the truck for extended periods of time, boat...
I think fuel consumption is more dependent upon load, not rpm. An engine at idle (no throttle) will drink less than at the same rpm but with half throttle.
Maybe look at this from the other end - what are your load requirements (from the genny)? It might be easier to work backwards with...
There's a ton of info on doing this. See http://www.oilburners.net/forums/showthread.php?54496-How-to-replace-your-mechanical-fuel-pump-with-a-Facet-Duralift-electric-fuel-pump for one example. I happen to pick a Walbro marine grade pump and I am very happy with it; it is more expensive than...
I am getting frequent errors, database error, site not available.... anyone else? Bad GP controller?
Already tried posting this but site hung up on me and lost it.
I have used it, tried T6 also. Truck consumes more than straight Rotella. I run Rotella 10w30 for winter if I can't get T5 or T6 on sale.
BTW, Rotella is good for wet clutch applications (JASO rated). Great stuff for atvs, bikes, etc.
I think you are over thinking this! Just stuff the U-joint back together, the splined axle will be 'clockable' to line up the two u-joints within the increments of the spline. I didn't figure this out but I suspect that "one way" you will be off a spline (yokes will be | / ) and 180 degrees...
