    Limitations

I have debated going new, there really isn't anything that I do now that an F150 couldn't handle... biggest regular chore is towing a 3500 pound boat - hell my wife's caravan will pull that. The problem is I really really enjoy the uniqueness of my old truck; every day it gets more...

    Twin I beam help

Go here and enter truck info http://energysuspension.com/parts-search.html There are other distributors for these so once you have the part number let your fingers do the walk'n I think if you are lifting 4" you will have to source a new bracket (buy or manufacture) or your camber will be way...

    Pigeon toed ttb

"TTB" = twin-traction beam. They do this because of toe. When you back up the wheels naturally want to pull away from your line of travel. This pulls any slack from worn steering compenents causing more toe, plus it flexes the front suspension like it was carrying a heavy load. Due to the...

My tensioner has broken for the last time

Here is a front view showing the original steel washer and my new fender washer. Tensioner pulley fit perfectly over this with no interference. That’s it for the temporary fix. The tensioner is on the truck and works extremely well; I am confident that this “temporary” solution will last...

My tensioner has broken for the last time

My tensioner has broken for the last time. The engineer who designed this to use a swagged aluminum casting to hold it together deserves a slap. There are two problems with the existing tensioner. - The center casting (aluminum) is swaged / flared to hold the assembly together. The torsion...

    7.3 idi boat engine?

I think you would need a closed cooling system and a heat exchanger for lake water. Cavitation issues. Probably a good idea anyway, saves time for winterizing, etc.

can i add a third or even forth battery ?

You need to get a meter on that and measure voltages. I would suspect you have a bad ground between engine and chassis. I suggest this for hot condition and for cold, and check at both batteries: 1. measure voltage in the center of battery posts (not on the cable clamps). 2. measure voltage in...

    Dynomax 19430 Exhaust System

I ordered this kit as soon as the deal was posted here. My buddy in the states has it for me and it will take a couple of weeks to get it, but I am looking forward to installing it! I still have the original exhaust on my truck:Thumbs Up amazing how much longer they last on diesels...

    serp vacuum delete?

Well I am almost there! Put hydroboost on last spring, and recently installed the PSD electric vacuum pump. I plan on removing the mechanical pump and installing a shorter belt 1080K6. I got that part number from an old post here or somewhere else on the internets... Here's one...

    Custom front bumper

My bumper is made out of 10 x 8.4# "stair stringer" - basically lighter weight channel. The back of the hitch is welded to a 4 x 4 angle that stiffens things up; the winch is mounted to a sub frame (hidden behind the channel) of 1.5" square tube. I have an 8000 lb winch and a hitch on it; I...

    2018 Oilburners Rally Location Voting

Well I voted for no_mufflers for two reasons: closest for me:idiot: and nobody had voted for him yet . Maybe not for the right reasons but it looks like TN is going to win anyway! I really want to go to one of these; better now that it is later in July. Just need to convince the Mrs...

    Poly axle pivot bushings

I suggest searching Energy Suspension; I took a look and found Energy Suspension Part# 4.7109G (for radius / strut arm). If you are not sure, call them! http://energysuspension.v12.iwebcat.com/Part/PartDetail/?exppartid=294513

    Front axle boot clamp

It think it is basically a dust cover... I would grease it up good and put a tie-wrap around it. Do you need to pull that apart to do ball joints?

    Fuel tank

Ummm, if the tank is empty and it won't take any (i.e. at the gas station) that has nothing to do with the selector valve. Did someone cram a squirrel in your fill pipe? Either that or the tank is full already but you should be able to see fuel in the fill pipe. Have you knocked on the tank...

    Rear spring blocks

I made my own... just some rectangular tube and flat plate... easy peasy. Details in my D60 swap link in my signature.

Building Pop Tester, What is the thread size on the DB2 injection pump that feeds injector line?

The "special" fitting to connect your injector is available off the shelf at any hydraulic shop. Just take an injector in and ask them to match it. My local Parker distributor had all kinds of them on the shelf. Link in my signature with additional pop-tester info.

    Vacume pump

Another tip. There is a screw on the back of the vacuum pump that opens the oil reservoir check it and add oil. I got tired of my vacuum pump blowing up every 30, 000 miles so I went hydroboost and electric vacuum for HVAC. Worth it!

Convert 8 lug down to 5 lug

Cab swap! Dog dish the wheels if 8 lug is an issue ( cover them with the ugly pie plate Hub covers that I love on my truck).

    Replacing leaf springs

Correct, the 350 has less springs than the 250. I guess you could add one to the 350 pack to make it into a 250 set but dunno. I have no idea why you would want to stiffen thing up! Frigging ride in these things are plenty stiff already, no? If you want height then I would suggest some kind...

0-60 video tying to compare to what yours does

    Replacing leaf springs

^^^ 2nd. BTW, if you are replacing the front springs the F350 ones are not good for a D50 axle with the center pivot. The F250 front springs are much stronger than the F350 (and no, this is not backwards). If you are getting all F350 springs... see if you can score the front axle also (D60...
