    Yes it was a fantastic feeling. I was very happy that it started and ran decent. I know it needs to be timed but I thought it was running great for a first start. Especially since I removed the IP and set it back about where it was.

    So I finally got time to work on it again. Got the got the fuel system purged of air and she started right up. I had the glow plugs disconnected and just a tiny shot of starting fluid.

    I would definitely consider that. Its easier to let the pump run and change filters every now and then then to deal with it on the road. I hope you get it clean and sorted out.

    Brass caps!!!

    That price is not bad considering it becomes a lifetime part at that point. The next thing that is nice about the brass is that at some point the plastic caps will no longer be available, and then you will wish you had a set of the brass ones.

    Can you set up a electric bypass pump and circulate the fuel through the filters continuously for a while? I would be sceptical about running that fuel through the IP and injectors. Otherwise just drain and clean the tank. Cost of a tank of fuel versus the cost of a rebuilt IP is simple math.

    Sounds to me like you need to build a 2x4 and poly enclosure to get the truck in while it is in the barn. Then you could have a little heat and make your life a whole lot better while working on this project.

    Reviving a 1990 F250

    Definitely will turn it over with the start after by hand. Thought is that by hand it will run a better chance of lubing the rings before the pressure evacuates all of it from the cylinder when using the starter. Perhaps I will get to it this weekend.

    I was thinking some wd40 with the glow plugs out and turn it over by hand. Then put the glow plugs back and start the bleeding of the injector lines.

    I would do a compression test and see what cylinder or cylinders are testing low. Then if the engine is bad find a used running one and swap it in.
