    So I was doing a bit of digging...my lift pump looks pretty old and worn...there’s an oil leak around the pump. Would a failing lift pump cause this sort of problem I described at the begging of this post?

    I’m planning on testing my fuel pressure at the filter head. Temp test not permanent..so from what I’ve read, I take the core out of the valve and then slide a hose onto it with clamp..then hose to mechanical fuel gauge. Low pressure right? Like 6-10psi running?

    What about a leak From the thermostat area? I pressurized my tank and found two Leaks..one where the top radiator hose meets the rad..and then dripping coming from Behind the radiator.

    The motor I found is a 1993 7.3 idi NA...the guy supposedly bought a government auction truck and pulled the motor for a Cummins swap. The engine/truck show 60k miles. Do you think that the gaskets and seals will be ok?

    The reason I ask is because I’ve never swapped a motor before. I’ve watched so many knocking IDI videos it’s really hard to know what’s going on with mine when I compare the noises... a few guys thought it was an injector and then replaced the fuel system to find a knocking cylinder.

    Interested in when you said the 6.0 is more reliable than you 7.3 idi. I’ve owned mine for three years and it’s just cranking with fuel and oil changes..glow plugs.. and now I need an injector..but are the 6.0l really more reliable than an old IDI?
