Thanks for doing the research, once I get my Moose pump back and fresh BB's I need to figure something out for timing...Did you happen to check with Gillette or Industrial Injection?
Ultimately I would like to have my own meter to compensate for pump wear and watch timing drift...
Did you ohm out the new plugs to verify they really are good? Remember, you are looking for .5-1.0 ohm for a good plug out of the package. I test mine on the rubber that seperates the radiator from the air intake/grille area. I could not obtain an accurate reading with the GP's installed in the...
It seems like a stupid thing, I have searched and did not come up with any info on valve cover gaskets.
My passenger side gasket is leaking from the rear and dripping on the crossover tube.
I am sending Mel my pump to be Moosed this weekend and since I will have the Turbo off I want to...
I replaced my original BERU plugs with BERU's today.
The originals went 112k! I observed a slight decrease in diameter and length of the tips on the old plugs.
3 GP's showed open and one had very high resistance, that's four inoperative plugs and it was manifest by a very quick WTS light...
What negative symptoms were you experiencing with your old, original pump? Any heat soak/no start issues?
Did it feel like it was running out of power on the top end, around 3k?
Possibly a worn steering U-Joint or the rag joint is coming apart. The rag joint is a rubber donut impregenated with fibers that tears apart in the event of a serious impact.
When is the advance piston active? I thought as long as it had 12v it was kicking up the timing 2*.
BTW, I had this exact problem until I advanced my pump all the way to the passenger side. I have a wicked hot start issue and will soon be sending my DB2 to Mel to be Moosed.
To troubleshoot...
I know...I think about my poor injectors popping away, they are really singing along at 80+mph.
I don't make a habit of speeding but when the kids get cranky it's time to get movin'!
When driving unloaded for long stretches at 80+ mph my boost gauge indicates 3-8psi.
Is there any damage or fatigue occuring while under constant boost?
I have 4.10's,E40D and 265's so while cruising I am around 3k RPM's
While loaded the boost gauge rarely dips below 10psi.
Is there...
I recently added an 88 gallon in bed "L" aux tank with a 15 gpm FillRite pump with filter head and water seperator. I fuel the trucks tanks via the aux tank so I get 2x filtered fuel.
At a conservative 12mpg this gives me a 1488mi range and while towing at a VERY conservative 6mpg it's still...
