    Funky/Odd Power Steering

Mel, The drag link and tie-rod rotate fore and aft when the steering wheel is turned. I thought this was normal?

    Funky/Odd Power Steering

Returning home from a 1,000 mile trip with the family the Ford's steering wheel jerked to one side and as soon as I corrected, the steering felt overly sensitive for a moment, then returned to center. It freaked me out as I thought I had a rod-end or ball joint letting loose. I got off the...

    water pump time

What is the average/safe life limit for our water pumps? I have 117k on mine and yet the tensioner and idler have already failed, is the WP due for a change? The coolant has been maintained correctly, though no coolant filter has been used.

Just can't win, now I got rail dust

Run your hand over the freshly waxed paint. Does it feel rough or pitted? Those contaminents can be removed via a clay bar system. This is a long process but will yank all the crud and rail dust that has embedded itself in the paint. Mothers and Meguiars both make a clay bar product...

New fuel filter had a leak

You can use the WIX 33217 for a stock replacement OR 33417, it has a drain but no sensor port and is less expensive than the 33617. The 33217 and 33417 are 14 Micron. The 33617 in a 12 Micron. I have used the 33617 with no problems.

I have a leaker after injector replacement

De-burring is removing the plastic parts mold flashing from the new cap. Sometimes the flashing is sharp/thick enough to cut the 0-ring. Sometimes it is small enough to not allow the 0-ring to fully seat when the cap is pushed over the injector. A simple twist around the cap with a razor...

    Glass inline filter?

Does anyone use an inline fuel filter prior to the lift pump or after the lift pump before the main fuel filter? I would like to use one to add an extra measure of safety to my new Moose IP. It would also be interesting to see how much crap it actually accumulates. Hook me up with a link...

    manually switching fuel tanks?

I bought an aux bed tank that had 100gallons of 10yr old #2 in it. The IDI liked it just fine, it had a strange yellow/brown tinge to it but all was well.

    My 1994 F-350 4x4 CC TD

No, I don't have head studs. Fortunantly for the high boost scenarios the engine was turning over 2,500 RPM. There are quite a few long pulls from SLC to Saint George, UT. 2 that if I cannot get a run at or get cut off by an A-hole in a VW Westfalia it's a 45-55mph event. Here is a link...

    My 1994 F-350 4x4 CC TD

Keep in mind the Truck is mostly stock and has never had the injectors or glow plugs removed. Even though this was done in a parking lot utmost attention to cleanliness was paid. The injectors broke loose with a satisfying crack after being soaked in a light squirt of penetrant. The GP's were...

    My 1994 F-350 4x4 CC TD

I don't keep track, but a rough estimate would be 11mpg. I filled both tanks twice... 17+19=36 36*2=72 800/72=11.1 I would estimate the average speed to be 65-70mph. We had it cranked up to 80-85 mph for miles at a time. 3,000 RPM is not really the IDI's sweet spot.

    My 1994 F-350 4x4 CC TD

The mid range power is great and boost now comes up immediatly. I finally got a chance to really test the new Moose Pump and Injectors. I pulled my Toyota to an event 800 miles round trip. This was a loaded trip as the Truck had gear for 2 adults, tools for Truck, trailer, and Toyota as...

    My 1994 F-350 4x4 CC TD

Moose Pump and matched BB injectors I sent my core to Agnem to be Moosed and recieved it about a month later along with a set of matched BB injectors and a new return line kit. The install went well but removing the factory turbo was a pain. It was all done in a parking lot since I did not...

    Losing fuel pressure

No. Dielectric grease is typically silicone based which will degrade your 0-rings and cause them to leak. C'mon the drugstore has travel size petroleum jelly for .99cents. Yes. That is the same kit I have, just repackaged.

    Losing fuel pressure

I vote for simply replacing the O-rings, caps and fuel line. No need to remove the injectors. I recently serviced mine and it would have simply induced more problems had I not already been replacing the injectors. The area around the injectors collects sand, dirt, rust and general crap. All...

    My Cold Start

Is your cold advance solenoid working? Can you hear it click if you jump 12VDC to it? Sounds like you may be slightly retarted. My Truck starts immediatly after a 12 hour cold soak at -2*F. My GP's burn for 10-12 seconds. I have a fresh Moose Pump and new BB's. This is starting on straight...

    Is this important??

Good for you man, no worries now! I just pulled out my ATS DP after replacing the IP and Turbo, just to re-weld a new tab to the DP so it would not slip out of the Turbo or chafe the transmission dipstick tube...it sucks but it sure is nice to have it done correctly!:D

    Is this important??

It does appear to help spread the load on the flywheel. It sucks to have to remove the transmission again, but you will always worry about it when you head out wheeling. Just decide that you are going to yank the sucker and have some peace of mind. Good luck!
