    Radiators-1994 7.3 IDIT E40D

I finally purchased an all aluminum replacement radiator. It is CU1165 from AutoZone. I count 15-16 fins per inch.

After much internet reading and searching is there any reason why regular, low silicate green coolant combined with Motorcraft VC-8 SCA's can't be used? The label on my bottle of NAPA low silicate coolant states that it is compatible with ALL metals including Aluminum. This is becoming much...

What is the verdict on using SCA's with aluminum radiators? Some have said it will sludge up the coolant due to the disimilar metals.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SGT-CU1165/ Does this radiator look correct/decent? AutoZone stocks them with a lifetime warranty. I'm nearly ready to pull the trigger. Just waiting for OB's approval!

    My 1994 F-350 4x4 CC TD

Most decent parts stores have quality interior paint. The gray is such that any number of gray tones would blend nicely with the interior. The spray paint is interior specific and has solvents that melt the top coat of plastic to really bond to it.

Does e4od need power to shift ?

Did something get reassembled incorrectly during the rebuild? Does rotating the input or output shaft have any effect?

Does e4od need power to shift ?

You should be able to move the selector. Can you move the linkage on the transmission itself? What happens if you put the t-case in neutral? It sounds like a key/column interlock issue. Don't force it yet...

Thanks! The pillar came that color. The color is dyed into the plastic just like the dash and other interior pieces. I imagine the color code can be found via the VIN.

Long story short during a Moab trip the factory radiator started leaking from a pin hole caused by corrosion. I thought finding a replacement radiator would be quite simple and was actually suprised that Moab didn't have one in stock at any of the 4 parts retailers. I'm looking for a...

    My 1994 F-350 4x4 CC TD

Thanks for the radiator info, I would love a Rodney Red but can't justify it and I'm a little sketchy about the e-bay aluminum radiator. I will look more into fin count. Are our radiators 4 core? Coolant temp has been a factor before in the summer but it was about 50* out and we had a good...

    My 1994 F-350 4x4 CC TD

We dropped into 2nd gear and made a 23mph assault:rolleyes:, the only limiting factor is EGT. Thanks for the tip on the AZ radiator. What did you end up doing with yours? Really I would prefer to just repair mine but I'm concerned about additional corrosion and I don't want the...

    Cruise Control Help

The RPM increase is due to the torque converter unlocking when the brake pedal is depressed. That is normal.

    My 1994 F-350 4x4 CC TD

The Moose Pump supplies waaayyyy more fuel than I can use so I have to be really careful on the long hills to watch EGT. We saw a momentary spike up to 1300*, fortunately with the engine spun up, easing off the pedal provides immediate reduction of EGT's back into the 950-1000* range instantly...

    My 1994 F-350 4x4 CC TD

A few weeks ago we made the trip to Moab for some wheeling with the Toyota's. Here is the Ford hauling 2 full bodied 4Runners, 130 gallons of fuel, food, tools and spare parts. We had a moving average of 53mph and got 9.7mpg. Leaving Canyonlands we noticed a puddle of coolant...

    What Oil Do You Use?

I use Mobil Delvac 1300. The truck will leak Delo 400 out of the passenger valve cover almost immediately after a change. The Mobil does not get consumed as fast nor does it leak.

    shake rattle and roll

You may have seized bearing caps in the front axle u-joints. Jack up the front axle, lock one hub and give the tire a hard spin. If the other tire lurches, you have bad front u-joints. The most common cause is not using 4WD monthly. Of course, if this is a 2WD then disregard.

What are the symptoms of a bad power steering box?

Does the steering wheel ever jump off center and feel stiff trying to return it to center? I had similar issues and replaced my box, but it was not the culprit. I see you have a 4WD, my u-joints were binding, even in 2WD, causing lots of weird steering issues. I could not believe that a...

    I FAILED emissions...horribly

That is a good idea, one that I had considered as long as I could still get the Turbo to light. I am really wondering about the condition of my injectors, they may not tolerate 2700-2800 rpm for hours at a time.

    I FAILED emissions...horribly

Like a Turbo? No, the idea is not to mask the problem but fix it.

    I FAILED emissions...horribly

Yes, It's put on the dyno and they hold it at 50 mph and take a reading, then they stomp the piss out of it twice and take a reading. I have mastered the Moose in town by keeping my foot out of it so it doesn't smoke until boost is available but this test doesn't exactly baby it.

    I FAILED emissions...horribly

In UT the opacity limit (Visible particulate matter, black smoke) for Diesels is 20% I have the safety/IM test slips for the Truck all the way back to 1997. They indicate that the Truck has NEVER blown past 6.9% This was last year as the pump and injectors were begining to fail. January...
