Bent rod jamming it up indeed..... May have to go talk to my buddy in South Texas soon..... And wats worse is it's not my buddys truck with the bent rod but my wife's. She is thoroughly pissed, and I can't blame her. I may have to drop my old 6.9 in there after going through it so she's back up...
I did, but never got the Rabs light to go off after till I put it back on. was on the old 85 cc flatbed I used to have. As soon as I put the old cable and vss on the Rabs light turned back off. Just went back to the jumpy speedometer needle.
Them glow plugs aint going back in anyways. I found all autolites and 3 of them were swollen and had to do the old needle nose vice grips trick and remove the IP and steel lines to do it. Pita, but easier than removing the heads. I like saving money we're I can, but I don't put trash parts on my...
Realistically u may just need valve seals. And as far as high crank case pressure how are you sure of this? Not saying you are wrong, just curious as to how you checked this. And if so make sure your cdrv is in good shape and if you have a rdt make sure you don't have any blockage or kinks in...
He used ether in it not knowing he wasn't getting fuel due to the switch valve not working. Pretty sure wen it didn't work it just cleaned all the oil off the cylinder walls and then sat.
The truck is on a flat driveway and I pushed it back by hand in neutral to make room between me and the...
Can't see much down there with a scope, but I don't see evidence of water. It was always garage kept. But condensation DOES happen. Thank you for all the responses. It will be another week before I can get back to this project as I have work and many projects of my own. So it should have ample...
Buddy has a 83 f350 2wd 6.9 with t19. Came home from deployment and his engine was locked up from sitting. That was 4 years ago and now wants me to try to free it up now that he is safe from ex wife getting it from him. Usual trick with the marvel mystery oil on top of the Pistons for a week and...
If the frame is ok and all u need is suspension axle and (bed?) I would definitely just fix it. Had a very similar issue a few years back. But it was my own fault. Smashed in my bed and axle. Went ahead and got new axle which I upgraded to an 01 or 03 super duty rear end a set of leaf springs...
Wow! Crispy crittered! Wes should have some new wiring harness as well if you haven't already sourced one. As far as other good things to fix I bet he could also point out a plethora of things to fix, and probably have a good majority if not all in stock. Bit of a drive for all that, but I'm...
Sounds like the O'Reilly manager here in springtown Texas. A few years ago while rebuilding my 6.9 I asked for wrist pin bushings. Said there's no such thing.I was already in a terrible mood anyway and he was kind of giving me a bit of an attitude. So I said you haven't been selling parts long...
Pictures kinda trash but u get the idea. Behind the trim fir the oil guage. Currently doing same on wife's 85 with 6.9. actually about to do alot on hers. This makes mock up easy as well lol.
No on water pump. On driver side head there is two stock sensors one for temp and one for overheat light. As far as the oil you should have stock sending unit u can thread into behind CDR valve.
I have an 88 TBI 350 4x4 2500 suburban mainly stock. Only thing not stock is the true dual 2 3/4 exhaust from stock headers to tailpipe and wells mufflers and the breather has two air pipes instead of just one. Never overheats or gives me any problems but I've had about 4 of these trucks prior...
