    Tow 12,600 with a 6.9 N/A ?

Brakes have not been a great issue in the past because this 6.9 takes its time getting to speed. I lifted the rear hinges on my '86 F250 gasser 460. I suspect that one probably has a partially plugged rad and I actually put about 500 miles on it in the past 2 years. It passes most everything on...

    Tow 12,600 with a 6.9 N/A ?

Well, hopefully it is a bit faster than about 25 MPH. The rains have kept me from wiring in the 7 pin connector for the Tekonsha RF brake controller. Wireless means it can get transferred to my 3rd truck. Eventually.

    Tow 12,600 with a 6.9 N/A ?

Duh! Okay. My brian is awake now. This could be a problem. Here's hoping that Case 530 doesn't look like a monster. Most Case machines tend to do that. Uh, oops?

    Tow 12,600 with a 6.9 N/A ?

Class A CDL in Orygun A trailer, or multiple trailers, with a total gross vehicle weight rating or actual gross vehicle weight of more than 10,000 pounds when the gross combination weight rating or actual gross combination weight, whichever is greater, of all vehicles combined is 26,001 pounds...

    Tow 12,600 with a 6.9 N/A ?

So my kid found a Case 530 CK weighing in around 8,600 the trailer that is available to move it with weighs in at 4,000. 12,600 with an '87 F250 6.9 N/A 4X4, E4OD? I have to move it about 60 miles. Long, slow, miles. Now if the 7.3 idiT was done, this would NOT be an issue. I figure to pop the...

    Turbo oil lines once more.

Thank you!! Gotta love it. That might work. 1/4 inch oil line from the back of the block to the turbo with a "T" in the middle and a 1/8 line going to all the **** bang accessories. That gets me straight up with a stainless fitting to clear the trans adapter on the back of the corn~binder block...

    Military-type tire tread

Well they are round and hold air. In light mud, they work good, in heavy mud, hit it fast and hard, keep them spinning. Ice? Pucker up babay! Sand? Yep. work good for that.

    Smoke coming out by pedals

That resistor should be under the hood and close to the blower motor. Pull it out, insert a shop vac and turn it on. If you have a few more minutes, pull the blower motor and vacuum that out also.

    Turbo oil lines once more.

My desire/problem is that secondary oil line. I would like to run the second oil line to the almighty oil gauge mounted on the pillar post pod, along with an idiot light and buzzer. (and a buzzer bypass switch) That buzzer somewhat akin to the low air pressure buzzer on larger trucks. I also...

    Turbo oil lines once more.

Well, in the process of trying to get this together well enough to just stuff it in the engine bay before the wife goes in for knee replacement on Wednesday. I removed the OEM brass fitting, installed a 45 degree, added an extension and then this contraption. The silver tip goes to the turbo...

Fire sleeve on return line and an adapter? whuufer??

Runs under the turbo. See how it works out long term . The last time was wrapped in Aluminum foil. What is at the end of the fuel line on the first injector? I forgot. Fun getting old.

7.3 idi Turbo oil line and such fun.

Ford? Doing wonky things? Say it ain't so Joe! I appreciate the pic. That engine is about due to get stuffed back into the engine bay and will rest on the mounts for some time more. The wife goes in for knee replacement and that just adds to the completion date. I am looking at an oil line...

7.3 idi Turbo oil line and such fun.

Time to go look but the location might not be the best due to the proximity of the exh manifold. I might just wind up with a brass "T" off the back of the top engine with lines, etc wrapped in fire sleeve.

7.3 idi Turbo oil line and such fun.

The block port at the top rear of the engine is what feeds the turbo. Got another one????

7.3 idi Turbo oil line and such fun.

Wow. I hadn't thought about that and also am a bit leery of a brass manifold and engine vibration. The back of the head is a nice idea but not so nice if something goes wrong with that connection in the future. I might split the feed off the back of the block and run a second flexible oil line...

7.3 idi Turbo oil line and such fun.

I suspect mine will be close to the same. First port for the dash gauge, just to watch it bounce to zero while the oil gauge in the pillar mount has an actual number. Second port for the pillar gauge. Third port pressure switch to the glow plug relay. Fourth port for a red idiot light and...

7.3 idi Turbo oil line and such fun.

If memory serves, the original set up was a brass fitting off the block to a rubber seal to the metal line that feeds the turbo. The solid line eliminates the rubber seal. The problem still being, for me, the plug location for the remaining items I would like to plug into the oil system. The...

Ford Factory E-Locker Teardown (and some discussion)

Didn't know Ford had an E-Locker. I went with the Eaton True-track in the rear and the Eaton E-locker in the front Dana 60 diff. Looking at the Eaton E-locker during installation, i can appreciate the simplicity and also see the limitations of that unit. For my asphalt 4X4 dually, it should work...

    Trustworthy repair shops in OR?

I used them for a rblt oem pump and new injectors. No problems so far and time will tell what is to come. I suspect they have been in business long enough that if there was a problem they would not be around.

7.3 idi Turbo oil line and such fun.

I just ordered the oil line and valley pan grommet from Classic Diesel. Now to see what shows up and how to add an adapter to that in order to add the other items to the oil line feed. The other considerations are the proximity to the turbo unit (heat) and the lack of access on the back of the...

7.3 idi Turbo oil line and such fun.

Long painful story short, the goofy oil line that runs from the turbo to the back of the engine has the appearance of impending failure. Not to mention I have the engine on a stand right now and I have the top steel line but currently misplaced the brass fitting coming out of the block, so. . ...

Read then considerand advise from your experience please

6.9 with the C-6 or the E4OD or an Allison trans? If you get noises at idle, remove the fan belt and start the engine again. Noise gone? Problem in a bearing somewhere. Alt? P/S? W/P? Alt not charging means a burnt fusible link? Check those?

Soccer ball engine / oil pickup 3/8" from bottom of pan?

Yep! Got the '94 7.3 idiT soccer ball engine. (T-Farce freight, formerly UPS freight used it as a soccer ball during shipment. I got it at the freight depot upside down in a crate tied in with a yellow rope after it came back from Promar in new Jersey.) I put the oil pan on it tonight and got...
