94.5 PSD Unknown EEC Self Test Codes

Rich is correct 94.5 and some early 95s were non OBD. They had the OBD plug under the dash, but ran the EEC program. Most were reflashed by the dealer so you can use the OBD software.

    Auto Trans Limp Mode Question

The jerking action puts a tremendous amount load on the center support causing it to move around. After awhile this will blow out the intermediate shaft. Specially on the unmodified pre 95 units. Early E4OD trannys use a small bushing to keep the shaft aligned. The end of the shaft will bind up...

E4OD leak and tranny pan bolt

You can use brake line and bend up a new set. To upgrade you will need a 4R100 bypass set up and some 3/8" tubing to complete the set up. If you get a used bypass, rebuild it with a Sonnax rebuild kit 36605-02K. They run about $20. bucks for the kit.

    E4OD swap in question

92 should have a E4OD, unless it was special ordered with a C6. Double check before you go crazy The swap will get more involved with a C6. If you have a 92 with a E4, then the swap is real easy. You will need a 4 stud converter and swap the solenoid pack to a pre 95 part.. 99 and up is a...

E4OD leak and tranny pan bolt

Front pump seal is giving up. You can get a Viton replacement seal at your favorite parts store. As for the stripped bolt. You can use a helicoil to fix it. If the bolt hole is not blind (outer pan rail), you can drill through and use a nut. Not my favorite fix, but many have been...

    1997 E450 Parking Brake Assembly

What you have is a 89-91 VSS with a nuked drive gear. Ford had a delete cap for that hole. You can find them on most 92 on up two wheel drive E4OD extension housings. Another option is to clean off whats left of the gear. Then stuff it back in the hole.

Draining oil rails for injectors removal

Remove injector #7 and #8 first. The crud will drain into those holes. Suck the crud out with your favorite sucker. After you install your new injectors, remove the glow plugs. Toss the valve cover back on (finger tight). Pull the IDM fuse and hit the starter. This will clear the...

    E4od valve body

You might want to take a look at the manual lever first. Check the detent spring and make sure the manual lever is in the correct position. The converter not locking could be from the manual lever. Other causes. internal leaks, stuck solenoid, or lock up valve.

    Tranny or torque converter......

Do not delete the bypass. Spend the $25.clams and rebuild it. Sonnax 36605-02K Sounds like the spring is worn out allowing the bypass to open. What this bypass prevents is internal damage to the tranny from lack of lube. Usually what fails is the out put shaft bushing and low...

    Tranny or torque converter......

The best place for the sender is in the test port, You will find a pipe plug just above the pan rail on the left side of the tranny. Remove the plug and install your sender. The tranny pan will always read cooler. Remember, this is where the cooled fluid goes. By using the test port you...

    93 F250 E4OD

Check the TPS setting. It could be out of range. The leak is most likely a failed pump seal. Easy fix, but you have to pull the tranny. You can get a Viton replacement seal at your favorite parts joint.

So What Did You Do With Your PSD Today?

Fixed the pesky coolant leak with a new T444E water pump. This was a good time to pull the radiator and clean the many years of debris from the core. To finish the project a new CAC cooler, CAC boots, and some paint on those ugly tubes.:D
