I’m slightly less excited about my promar reman. In fairness I asked for a custom build that the gladly said they would do. I had them put a cam, head studs and valve springs in. Well, they didn’t do due diligence and check clearances so on it’s first trip, I made it 90 miles and it broke a...
I’m okay with that timeline. I think that will work just fine.
The real question @no mufflers is does the dodge have a muffler?
LOL LOL LOL
I crack myself up sometimes.
Well if you get to Alex at 8, that puts you at our meeting spot around 9. Roanoke - ish by around noon. Figure an hour for lunch, I think we are still about 4 hours out so that would put us in the campground around 5 depending on other stops.
Yup. Thank you. I appreciate someone who really knows backing me up. Just irritates me that I paid for them to screw it up.
It’s together for now and unless it gives me problems, that’s how it will be.
Here is the route we are looking at with notional stops. Notional in the sense that we likely will not make all of them but we know where they are if we need them.

It's one of those tools that you think... gee... I hate to spend the money on something I'm only going to use once... but then... you end up using it twice then three times and its totally paid for itself.
You can always smack it with a hammer if you don't have air handy. I carry mine on...
@Dirtleg looking at the route where @tjsea and I were planning to meet will put our fuel window somewhere around Roanoke. I was looking at Troutville just above Roanoke. It’s been several years since I’ve been to that part of the country. Any suggestions for convenient fuel and food? It will...
And that’s why I told you to poke me.
I’ll put it on my list now.
We will probably catch you on the return trip would be my guess unless you are going to the extreme SE tip of KY. We are coming back Sunday as well. I think Alex is coming back Saturday.
Well, given the choice between the Cummins ranger and a PSD Ex for travel, it’s hard to argue with the creature comforts in the Ex. It’s still a ranger, diesel or not. He drove it to KY the year before. Cans full of veggie and all. You could smell him coming. LOL
Where is your sending unit? 210 water temp at the front of the heads or at the stock port up front just means that your coolant is picking up heat as it passes through the system. If it drops quickly when you let off it’s not heat soaking the radiator. Like they said, thermostat is just getting...
LMC does not have a brick nose diesel support for the tall radiator last I looked. Without AC means it was the short wide rad. I have seen a kit someone was selling to repair them. Honestly, your best bet is probably to import a clean one from out west. Even at $400-500 you would probably be...
Yeah finding something at a campground on 7/5 may be challenging by now. It’s about an 8 hr trip. If you spread it out with stops it’s not horrible to do in a day but I understand the other side too.
Wife has decided she wants her car while we are there so she’s going to follow-ish. If someone...
Road test went well. No vibration on the freeway. Filled up with fuel. 15.8 mpg. There’s a good bit of idling on that so I’ll take it. Need to top the tcase off from pulling the drive shaft but other than that I think she’s about ready to fly. Needs a good bath. Hopefully over the weekend.
