The ONLY time a tach is absolutely necessary is when you have an auto trans called an E4OD. This is because it depends on a signal from this and a few more items. You probably are about ready to loose the tach signal completely.Ebay is usually the least costly place to shop for this. Figure...
You may want to check the sender that controls this and the cold advance solenoid. Its very expensive "if" you can find it new. Mine failed and burned down some wiring. My post is back a few months called Electrical Issues. This sender is forund back behind the thermostat housing way down low on...
Leaks on the drivers side usually are the oil cooler to block gaskets or worst case.the oil cooler headers are eaten away. Are you running coolant? Time to look closer for the source of the leak. Could be one of 3 freeze plugs on the drivers side of the engine or maybe the water pump too. That...
Your shoes are oiled up. So this causes them to grab differently from side to side. Our rear adjusters really never work "as designed". Allowing the rears to get way out of adjustment puts ALL the braking on the front discs and that overheats them to the point of cracking. I cracked several till...
warm then up to say about 250 degrees. Then cool down by flooding them with pb blaster or better yet. Aerokroil. As it cools from the spray the threaded joint with suck in the oil. Sounds like someone used a carbon steel bolt instead of a stainless steel bolt but. If you change to stainless use...
I changed from belts to serpentine 11 years ago. Behind my rear seat I carry a spare serpentine belt. A spare shock absorber tensioner and an idler. Never have I needed any of these spares. My belts were a different story..
As already posted here. you need to check if fuel comes out the bleeder and then try the 911 fuel additive as suggested. It can't hurt but sure might open up the gelled or frozen lines.
I'm in so cali and run Delo 15w40 year round. I also run the motorcraft 1995 power stroke oil filter because it fits. Its larger and the micron filtration is better. The psd engines require cleaner oil because of the oil fired injectors.
I have a few pics that were on this site for many years.I cannot "find them" now. They were easy to find on the other site. Can anyone tell me where I might find them so I can post and help others with gear timing...
Thanks for responding that you DID NOT remove the housing with the pump.. My best guess is your injectors and injection pump are the problem. Pensacola is not a shop or business any here will recommend because of the "stuff" they sell. Way too many members here have had issues with their...
Thanks for the response. With plenty of fuel in the tanks best idea is to press the fuel bleeder valve on the filter head when cranking the engine. See if air or fuel comes out.
Welcome to the forum. How long had it been sitting before you "fired it up" to move it. What level are the fuel tanks at. If the fuel level is near the 1/4 tank level you probably have broken off suction heads in the tanks. when they break off the last 1/4 tank of fuel can't be sucked out so you...
Kenny if you look at the Frantz bypass filter web page you will find the fitting they use for a oil pan filter drain back. Its a fitting that has a rubber seal on it and it screws into the side of the oil pan.I have never seen or used this fitting but I still wonder if it is a "leak free"...
Our engines will never show diesel squirting from the loose injector lines when you try to bleed the air from the system. Tighten the lines. Crank the engine for say 10 or 15 seconds. Let the starter rest for 2 minutes and as its resting crack open the injector lines at each easy to reach...
This forum has shown several pics of return line possibilities.Heres the scoop. No matter what.. You MUST return fuel from the filter, injectors and the injection pump. How you get it there is any way you can. If a turbo is involved make sure your path is clear because of the turbo heat melting...
Not sure what you are asking about. If... This has to do with the check valve on top of the fuel filter housing then you need a replacement piece. Either Oregon Fuel Injection or Conestoga Diesel Injection can sell you one. but be sure you know what size you need. The small is generally thought...
If the injectors are out take a straight point dental pic and drag it around the cast iron seat in the head. If it stops anywhere then that means you have a cut seat that needs to be fixed. The torque on the injectors into the heads is 35 ft lbs but some like a little more.
Went for a long drive today. Picked up my ebay item in Victorville today.Cruised up Cahon Pass bout 75 mph in overdrive. Not even sweating anything.Oil temp sure did climb but coolant and pyro was fine. Never heard the fan come on either. Miles driven was about 160 round trip.
Welcome to the forum. As already posted.. You need both banks return to the tanks. How it gets there is really not important but MUST return both sides someone. Pics sure would help and please know this..We can use either the large or small return line kit but NEVER try to run both on the same...
What did Mel suggest? I recall many users here with Howes so hopefully you might get some positive feedback on howes. Personally I never tried Howes. I have used Stanadyne Performance formlua for bout 12 years now.On mt way to the 2009 rally I purchased 9 gallons of it from a place in Phoenix...
