    Backpressure on exhaust

I have a glass pack on mine and it's not terrible but it's still pretty loud. It gets old on the highway for long trips. The common myth about back pressure comes from the fact that a properly sized exhaust will have a scavenging effect which will actually assist with pulling the exhaust gases...

    Fumoto oil drain plug size??

I'm pretty sure mine was 1/2-20 but it looks like all the aftermarket oil pans are m14 now so if you have the stock pan on a 7.3 you should be good to get 1/2-20

    Vac to electric cruise?

Yes. There is a write up somewhere for the conversion and it really doesn't look difficult. I'll be trying it myself someday when I can track down a good electric cruise module from a 92+ truck. I think it was literally just running wires but it's been a while since I looked.

So what did you do with your truck today?

That would be nice but I'm not sure I'd want the extra hole in the cab. I have seen them done that way though.

Just don't hold it against me if yours isn't the same hahaha

So what did you do with your truck today?

Well I feel kinda dumb but maybe it just needed time to soak? Yeah probably not.... This summer I tried doing some work on the "scrap trailer" I bought this year. It's just a little 5x10 trailer, perfect for a lawnmower or something. It's had a load of scrap in it for several months now hahaha...

    Sticky Throttle

I just bought whatever Napa had last time. I wasn't knocking that brand just never heard of them. I think Walker is all I've ever used but that doesn't mean they're great, just the only ones I've tried. I needed 4 inch and they were $14 on Amazon or $18 at Napa made in USA stamped on the box so...

    Sticky Throttle

Can't say anything about that brand but yes band clamps are great in general.

    Sticky Throttle

If it is the metering valve sticking I've had pretty good luck with Hotshots Extreme fuel cleaner. The pump on Tank is starting to show it's age and a dose of that stuff whips it back into shape for a little bit longer when things start sticking. It's not enjoying sitting not getting driven.

    Accelerator Cable replacement

I was not happy with the aftermarket cable I purchased so I grabbed a motorcraft one after the aftermarket cable snapped.... It was like $40 or something from tasca. If you need me to dig up the part number let me know.

17 years later I did a compression test

This stuff has shown promising results from what I've seen. Plus it's 30% off right now on Amazon. https://a.co/d/1ll8Eck There was a thread on it here a while back. Lots of good reviews in BITOG

17 years later I did a compression test

My dually has been burning oil pretty bad lately. I put a bunch of the lucas in the oil and it seems to have slowed it down. Feels more sluggish, probably because it's just running on the diesel and not burning oil too LOL

    80-91 tilt column rebuild

His reply is still correct for that part. That shaft is collapsible as well. Put a screwdriver through the holes and you should be able to get it to pull out a little bit more. If you can't, you may need to pull that bearing back off and clean up the shaft gently with some sandpaper. You might...

    “The 6.9” project thread

I bought a spool of the baby wire just for that type of work. 0.023 or something like that.

    80-91 tilt column rebuild

It's a much more durable replacement and I believe it's a bigger bearing. It goes on the bottom of the column where the steering shaft bolts on.

    80-91 tilt column rebuild

There's a place online that sells a NICE looking lower bearing assembly with a new aluminum retainer. If you need that I can try to find it again. EDIT: https://drbfab.com/collections/ford/products/all-metal-lower-steering-column-bearing

So what did you do with your truck today?

I have a bunch of WMO here but I just haven't had a chance to get my centrifuge setup put together. I have almost everything to do it it's just the actual getting around to it.... I know what you mean!

    SRW to DRW

Axle and DRW fenders. From what I've seen with mine the beds are the same except for the cutouts for the fenders. You can certainly cut up your bed and drill for the fenders, swapping the whole bed is less work in my opinion if there's a clean candidate. My F250 has the same springs as my DRW...

    Random surging while driving

They do sell a 3/8 inverted flare adapter like that. I bought mine at Advance Auto. My hardline started leaking so I just bought that and an NPT to hose barb adapter and ran hose over the tube and forgot about it until you posted this LOL

    Fuel issues?

You're welcome. I believe the 5/16 ones are actually labelled wrong in the listing, but they sent the correct ones anyway. I think the 5/16 ones are supposed to be "-5" but they have them listed as "-4". I didn't really care since I got the correct ones when the mail showed up, but if you're...

    Fuel issues?

Nope. That kit only has one 3/8 and one 5/16. You need two 5/16 and the 1/4 aren't used on our trucks. As far as I know, NA trucks use a 3/8 at the filter head and 2 pcs 5/16 (one at each end of the filter to IP line). Some early trucks had a steel return line that use one but mine don't so I...

    Fuel issues?

Check here https://dieselorings.com/products/7-006-parker-60vlv-6-viton-sleeve-3-8-inch?_pos=3&_sid=2f1c3a44c&_ss=r They might be closer to you than they are to me. They're in Colorado I think? That would at least hold you over. They have both sizes on the site but they aren't listed correctly...

    Fuel issues?

I ordered a set from diesel o rings because I needed something else from them but I'd buy from Russ otherwise. Might be able to find them on eBay or something. The line before the filter is 3/8 and I THINK the line after the filter is 5/16 but I'd have to check. Line before the filter has one...
