I would imagine demand is very low for new valley pans, hence the lack of availability. I recently was trying to find the best deal on one and all I could find were CDD and Accurate Diesel actually having them in stock. Shipping was expensive too--I assume because of the size rather than weight.
If your charge wire is suspect it's easy to replace or switch to a Mega-Fuse.
Have you checked what the overnight voltage drop is? As in, turn of the truck at the end of your day, check the battery voltage, and then check it again first thing in the morning.
Did you buy one new battery or two? I'm not sure from how you worded your post. If you only bought one new battery the other one could be the problem.
It kind of sounds like you may have a parasitic draw. How was the truck before you installed the new parts? You might consider adding some...
Ooh, the infamous Pensacola Diesel. I've never used them but they have a very terrible reputation and lots of people have reported issues with their injection pumps. I know they're cheap but you do get what you pay for. I don't know about the injectors but I doubt they would behave like what...
Probably unrelated but where did you get the injection pump and injectors from?
If you delete the hard line from filter head to injection pump and convert to fuel hose it makes it real easy to add a fuel pressure gauge so you can monitor inlet pressure at the IP. If your lift pump is of...
Well, torquing on a 40 year old steering column might have been a risky choice. You'll need to pull the steering wheel. I used a cheap-o harmonic balancer puller, $25, buy two 3" 5/16th-18 bolts and matching washers because the puller kit does not contain them. I think you'll need some snap...
The early design uses 3/16th fuel hose and the later design uses 1/4 or 7mm hose. I think the later design kicked in around 1991. The caps you currently have may still be good and all you really need are the Viton o-rings and new fuel hose.
Where did you install the pyro probe? 1150 is about the safe limit when I'm driving. I think you can push a bit more boost like 10-12psi.
Don't forget about R&D IDI, I just ordered a new IP and some injectors.
Edit: As far as mild upgrades go I recently added a fuel pressure gauge after...
I'm in a similar situation. Noticed a larger than normal black spot after parking and it seemed to be fuel that had washed oil off with it. I replaced all return lines and o-rings, no noticeable leaks while running, no drips visible, but after driving 30 minutes and sitting parked for 30+...
I recall reading that a very worn IP might need to be advanced a bit extra to compensate for wear. But yeah it does sound like a new IP and injectors should be on the short list of what comes next.
Call for best service. I had wondered myself about his business since everything is listed as "out of stock". I e-mailed them about getting an IP and they got back to me within 24 hours.
No effin' way at that price. I spent too much time searching around online looking for every mechanical pump option and came across a couple sites that were offering International pumps. I also saw one on Ebay and the packaging clearly stated 'Made in Mexico'.
