Best way to get sound out of 6.9er.

The turbo. LOL Honestly, no muffler on a turbo truck. It's just not needed.

4 speed swap no clutch ??

OK, here is the thing, and I know how much of a pain this is because I have numerous IDI's with manual transmissions. I'm going to guess that you have the black plastic hydraulic line and not the red semi-translucent hydraulic line. You have air trapped in that hydraulic line. Believe me, you...

Best way to get sound out of 6.9er.

I like the Magnaflow stainless muffler for my NA trucks. The shortest one in 3" will do nicely. No muffler is just insane, but the Magnaflow will give you a nice deep, yet authoritative tone.

    GV over/underdrive on a 4x4?

Good memory Calvin! Yes, and in the years since, I've learned that my local Gearvendors dealer stopped doing the divorced setups because they had too much trouble with driveline vibration. I find that interesting, because my setup is smooth as silk. So yes, Gearvendors is good to me, and...

    DB2 Pump Internals

The calibrating fluid that is left over from testing the pump is adequate to protect it prior to the engine starting. With regard to the questions regarding worn surfaces, there are some parts that can be re-used, and others that cannot. Some parts only wear on one side, so it is possible to...

For all of those that inquired about Diesel Care.

I actually do have an ebay store, but we only sell the stuff that doesn't deserve the proper hand holding and customer care that quality products deserve. I can't compete on price, and sadly that's what too many people look at when they shop. They won't even stop to wonder why one product...

    Building a 6.9 to kill

I've updated it if you want to look again. We had not been putting the Super Moose info on the web site, but it is there now. We've also changed the warranty on the Omega to be the same as our other pumps. Buy two fuel filters when you order your pump and we will automatically extend warranty...

Finally Reassembled and Running.... WHOA! BIG FUEL LEAK!

We had a local guy recently, who parked his truck nose down, and allowed the valley pan to fill with water, which promptly froze. When he stepped on the throttle, the advance lever couldn't move and he snapped it. We fixed him up with a new lever, and that nut with new seals. A new IP is...

Anyone in central oregon that can time my new pump?

Its really important to get that timing spot on, for best power and economy. Gary's meter rental program is the best option for many.

What did my truck cost new?

The Moose Truck had a base price of around $11,900 in 1983. The diesel was an expensive option, and I think pushed the price I paid up to around $13,800. With the interest rate a 20 year old could get on a new car loan at that time, I think my payments were like around $600 a month! A huge...

    2015 IDI weekend

Sorry to hear some of you won't be able to attend. I always put a high priority on going. Not sure why, as I'm sure there are other things I could be doing. I just have too much fun at these things to care about the other stuff.

    DB2 Pump Internals

The wear items are all the valves, seals, primary pump surfaces, head and rotor faces, thrust washers, cams, rollers, pistons and springs. There may be other items that should be replaced depending on their condition.

    sticking throttle cable

This part number has been posted in the parts bin http://www.oilburners.net/forums/showthread.php?5384-THE-PARTS-BIN since like the dawn of time. LOL Considerate of you to re-post it though.

    **UPDATE** FP DIESEL GASKET SET

Just a side note of curious trivia if your interested. Back in the 80's and early 90's I ran computer field service, and one of my customers was Armstrong World Industries. Those of you who know flooring and ceiling tile recognize Armstrong as one of the leaders in those products. They had...

    FS-2500 bypass filter system

I'll have to see if I can find one of my reports. If not, I'm due for one, so as soon as the weather breaks and I change the oil again, I will get it sent off.

Leaking hard line from filter to ip. Need to fix ASAP

If you perceive a fuel leak at one of the injectors, it is the return line cap most likely, and not the hard line. This would also explain any hard starts your having. When you put the caps on, they need to be lubricated, and snapped on with a twisting motion to get them right.

Finally Reassembled and Running.... WHOA! BIG FUEL LEAK!

There are 3 driveshaft seals. One to keep the oil in the engine, one to keep the fuel in the pump, and one to back up the pump seal and divert fuel to the weep hole. Those seals do get hard and brittle. Unfortunately, with it sitting a while, the hardness increased and they have lost their...

    FS-2500 bypass filter system

I've had an FS-2500 on the Moose Truck since 2001. Blackstone does my oil analysis every few years, and my reports come back shining brightly. I used to have them posted, along with pics of the filter, but that was before Webshots went belly up.

    Somebody shoot me!

Typical torque value if I recall for standard head bolts in a 6.9 turbo application is 85 foot pounds. So you should have that at least. If ARP studs have been taken to 90 sucessfully, I would use that, but DO MAKE SURE your torque wrench is accurate. I recommend getting it re calibrated with...

Shops near memphis that can time moose pump

I have some used lines in stock if you need them. Thanks for the accolades guys. Makes for a better day, since I had to spend the first part of it explaining to someone why I charge what I do and that I'm not trying to rip them off.
