Helping with a no start issue

If you have white smoke you have fuel, I bet the diesel rx glow plugs are your issue, I had a customer put them in his turbod intercooler van (all day job) and they burnt out after a single use. You can imagine how happy he was about that.

    Injectors

So you have a 1965 year jd2010? If you can get a picture of the serial plate on the pump I can figure out the rest from there.

    Building a better db2

Another custom pump today, for one of our oilburners. Dont know if to call this a 130 or a 145 pump, but this one is built up with locked timing, big input thrust bearing and some neat features. Below are three fuel curves compared to a stock na pump, first is our valet mode which cuts down the...

    glow plugs

If the ends are rotted the rest of the wirings not in much better shape, for a controller that reads resistance to determine glow time bad wiring is no good for glow plug life. Replace the whole harness with my na harness and eliminate a lot of further headaches...

    1989 F-250 7.3 Project

Another point I forgot to mention over our phone call, the last engine in the shop truck had stock valve springs despite wrapping the 30 lbs boost gauge over twice with the compounds, I could feel the power start to decay where I figure 45-50 psi was, so I’m assuming the valves were starting to...

    11 Year 75 Crew Cab 7.3 Build

Balance in a hp engine I believe is critical, that being said I have run a na flywheel on a turbo engine and had catastrophic failures from balance, just broke the pistons from a nitrous backfire. The engine did have a noticeable vibration at idle that was gone when I replaced the idit with a na...

    Building a better db2

Custom 110 pump Im putting out for a local customer they are putting on another stock IDIT shooting for 300hp, knowing this is going on a stock engine with stock headgaskets, ideally I would want a pump that makes less fuel in the lower rpms where the engine cant efficiently use big fuel which...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Awesome Dane glad you’re pleased with the turbo, I got your message about your cowl setup sucking shut, had a chuckle when I heard it but glad you figured it out to be a simple fix!

    Project Queso

Hey Ken welcome to Oilburners and thanks for the kind words, always so cool to see the trucks my parts are going on and to know a bit about their history. The Up50 sounds like a beast, I’m looking forward to seeing how your vacuum setup performs over the factory system as well as the fuel...

    11 Year 75 Crew Cab 7.3 Build

I did modify those ports, and man did it flow the coolant. I have about a mile an a half driveway from the shop and I could drive down that and 5 miles down the main road before the high idle would shut off on an 80* day with no fan or fan clutch behind the rad. Once it was heat soaked though...

CDD Core Buyback Program and Website Update

Well if you are already buying a built pump from me I’m willing to give out a bit more coin for your core as a motivation for that purchase, and it’s less leg work for me just having a pump sent back versus keeping track of cores and making individual codes for core buybacks. If you compare...

CDD Core Buyback Program and Website Update

Hey Oilburners! In an attempt to streamline core buying and to make things a bit easier for me to keep track of everything, I've set up a semi-automated core program on the website for yall to send in your old parts and exchange them for store credit. Right now I'm really hurting on db2 cores...

Steering is going to put me in a ditch

All 8 lug 2wd setups will use two I beams so you will have the pivot bushings under the engine crossmember that pretty much all of these trucks need replacing. On my 93 and 97, you back uphill into a parking spot and the alignment is noticeable way off because these bushings allow the beams to...

Steering is going to put me in a ditch

What front end do you have? Sounds like you need a steering shaft, box and axle pivot bushings if not a solid axle

    Fuel Pressure

That will be pre filter, only port that is post is the vacuum switch. I sell a kit that converts the ip feed line to -6 an fittings and adds an inline pressure gauge. You want about 5psi feed pressure, but the filter light comes on with any vacuum seen at that port.

    Allison 6 speed transmision?

Don’t like the Allison behind our dt466e at all. IH locked out the extra gear they used in heavier model trucks and no overdrive eats fuel when loaded, would honestly rather have a well built e40d behind the IDI with a trans controller.

    Black Smoke at Part Throttle

You likely won’t make cranking fuel if you turn down the fuel, try adjusting your wastegate first to add more air

    Building a better db2

You sure can, just as long as you have a pyro and aren’t expecting a smoke free exhaust while na, I’ve have several customers run 90s on na trucks while they build turbo kits and work out bugs on fresh projects. I do not recommend running stage ones with a 90cc pump, save your money and get...

    Building a better db2

If your throttle cable is sticking that’s nothing to do with the pump, but if anyone has something like that happen just turn the key off and fix the cable. Rocker arms coming loose is an issue I’ve seen with even stock trucks, I use blue locktite on the bolts and haven’t had anymore issues with...

    Building a better db2

Yes this is the standard now for my 90cc pumps, heres another two 90s Ive done since then for comparison What kind of issues did you experience with the higher governed rpm? If you're just swapping the main gov spring out for a stiffer spring or shimming the factory spring without taking into...
