Im not much of a mechanic but dont forget the origin of these engines..... they ate Internationals first, Ford just put them in their rigs.

Well, if i have my threads straight... the 94 with the coolant disappearing i suspect cracked head or head gasket... but no leaking is happening.
If its the transmission overheating then thats my 2002 Powerstroke.... which should be fixed today because my mishimoto trans cooler came in last night
See my overflow bottle is bone dry.... should i fill that too ?
And i will try changing the radiator cap also.... anything but cracked head or gasket !!’n

Saw some youtube vids and someone with a 1999 powerstroke put on a mounting tutorial so i dont see why it wouldnt work with a 2002 7.3 turbo Powerstroke.
Anyone know the hose diameter to the little trinket trans cooler they put on the 2002 ?

Yes it did and i pulled over immediately and called a coworker for a rescue ride. Let it sit a few hrs and just drove it 4 miles to the base and didnt overheat. I heard these trucks may have a trans fluid inline filter ?

well , besides the possible head cracks or bad gasket on my IDI... now my 2002 Powerstroke trans light and check engine light came on while driving to work. Its a 14 mile drive. Fluid is good not burned or low. Stranded with 4 miles to go should i let it cool then drive it ?

Out here in Ca. Well, i somehow ran my 94 7.3 turbo IDI about 2 gallons low on coolant by the time i realized it and it got hot. No oil in coolant and no coolant in oil, no radiator leak and the thermostat got stuck so the temp gauge stayed on the cold side. Thermostat replaced and added new...
Yes, good question... whats the damage to an IDI is it taxing the starter ? Draining batteries? Which I have done a lot !

Here is what happened to me,
Truck had same symptoms of not starting after i drove and parked it... never had any coolant and oul leaks so i thought all was fine. I could pour a bottle of drinking water on the IP and it would start up. Then yesterday i checked the oil... that was right on full...
I just got this 2002 F 350 in may and i cant find the end of the block heater plug... pretty dumb huh but it must be tucked away somewhere on drivers side i think. I found wherw it plugs into the block but disappeared once i got up towards the bumber. Since i got it in san Deigo ca i dont think...
