    Fuel delivery issue

That is an interesting article, but you quite too soon. The bi-metallic gauges have trimmers to set the E and F points. It takes a few iterations because they effect each other. But you first need to adjust the float so that it is almost at the bottom when empty. You can also set the float...

    Injection punmp

This is my wrench. I did not need to bend it, just grind it a bit thinner. And I am working a van where I must do everything by feel. But then I got the fuel filter off the engine which helps.

    Fuel delivery issue

You may be right. I will modify my statement; it has never had a mechanical pump while I have had it. We currently have six operational vehicles. My wife's 460, 73 Mach 1 Mustang is the only mechanical pump left.

Was there an O ring at the IP intake? I have a brass compression fitting on mine.

    Fuel delivery issue

In the original setup, the fuel filter light is activated by a vacuum switch, and mine did trip when the filter got dirty, but before it effected performance. My van, both with the 460 it came with, and the IDI from a similar van, never had a mechanical pump. The original pump was in the tank...

    Help!! 7.3 IDI NA

My supply/lift pump is on a three way switch. I can have it run when there is engine oil pressure, always, or never. A couple times I have had it turned off, forgot it, drove off, and the engine didn't seem to notice. The fuel filter is another matter. Is your plugged filter light working?

    Air Conditioning Needs Fixed

As noted, the cans often have dye. If not, if you add a quarter ounce of florescent dye you may find the current or next leak with a UV light. If the system is already discharged you can just pour it in. If the system is charged you need a device to force it in. The system needs to be...

    Air Conditioning Needs Fixed

You get bubbles when the pressure inside is greater than outside. If you pull a vacuum and then apply soap it will pull the soap in not blow bubbles.

Yea. Someone thought the only fix for an R12 system was to convert to R134. My position is, don't. Just fix and charge with HC.

I am on their site. It seems someone should make a group reservation. The November calendar is empty.

It took me a minute to determine why you referred to water. The water doesn't go inside. The parts are under a constant pressure supply. It will show the smallest leak.

A leak makes bubbles and they pop. Soap bubbles are constantly popping without a leak. It takes a big leak to be able to see a difference. A water tank is the ultimate check. But that requires a bunch of matting fittings to be able to pressurize the parts.

It is the typical barbecue/RV tank. I have several. I had it either filled or topped off at Tractor Supply. Envirosafe has worked well for me. I just ordered two 30#. Might that be a waste of money? What might be my worst case result running my "barbecue gas"?

Soap will only find big leaks, and not even all of those. I had a leak in the compressor shaft. I had it covered is soap suds. But I did not pinpoint the leak until I pressurized the compressor and submerged it water. The dye did not work either because it never flowed out far enough to see...

I long ago went to HC. Will nitrogen show a small leak quicker than air? How good is nitrogen at distributing dye?

A Carnot cycle is the phases that a refrigerant goes thru in an AC system - gas to liquid and back. Meanwhile, straight propane does seem to be working. I was satisfied with an air test. I added oil and dye and charged with propane in hopes that the propane will circulate the dye. The sight...

Can an auto AC system produce a full Carnot cycle using nitrogen?

I have been using Envirosafe for well over a decade, mostly in old Fords without changing anything in the system. In 2007 I was driving my newly acquired 2001 PSD home when an adjacent hose clamp finished wearing a hole in a steel AC line. I brazed the hole and charged with Envirosafe. That...

I would like to second the motion on Envirosafe. I have several vehicles that started as R12 systems. I have serviced them with Envirosafe without making any changes to the system - no "conversion". I vacuum for about a minute, and charge till the low side is thirty pounds. When I replaced...

Thanks. The E4OD comment pulled me off. I have three vehicles with C6s. They have all needed to be replaced in the last couple years. Mine all worked fine, until they didn't.

    Trans temp and pressure

I have long had a pressure gauge on the left hand test port. It was useful when trying to correlate with a harsh 1-2 shift. I have an early Baumann controller which reads out nothing - the current ones read out a bunch of stuff. I have a duplicate of the water temp sensor in the trans pan and...
