Spent a few days mating the top half of my original core support with the bottom half of one for a 92-97 diesel (BDY-FO1225249 - $260 from summit) and it worked.
Only slight differences is I had to expand the hole for the intake tube and I had to just slightly shave down the studs that the...
Looking at the cdr more closely I don’t think its original. Maybe I wasn’t wrong in thinking that it failed.
It was probably an aftermarket piece that came with the hose and plastic connector.
I think what I’ll do is remove the rubber expansion plug and route the catch can outlet into the hole in the back of the intake manifold.
1” od stainless pipe with a -12 bung welded on the end should get the job done if I use the original grommet and brace it to the original cdr bolt holes.
I...
I do plan on putting a banks kit on the truck in the future after I get my mustang back on the road too, so I figured installing a catch can now while i have the whole front of the truck off can’t hurt.
It sure looked like plastic to me. Attached is a picture of it with a new hose on it.
I wasn’t talking about routing the catch can back into the valley pan, I’m just trying to figure out how to get the hole blocked off.
I put a rubber expansion plug in the hole in the back of the intake...
I’m deleting my cdr valve and adding a classic diesel designs catch can. I had a buddy of mine weld a -12 bung on one of my valve covers for the catch can inlet, but I can’t figure out where to route the outlet from the catch can. I know it needs to go to the intake, but I’m not sure where...
I’m working on replacing my battery cables with a kit from classic diesel designs. On my passenger side battery cable, there is one cut wire coming off of it and a second wire that runs into a connector that then runs into the large harness that runs along the core support in front of the...
@franklin2 in the harness that goes to the trans, I’m seeing that the black/pink and pink/orange are both for the reverse lights. Is one power and one ground? I was able to get the pigtail for the reverse switch for the zf5 from the guy I bought the shifter arm from, so not sure what year the...
Thanks. That’s the main thing I’ve been trying to figure out. I did have a donor truck but somebody had robbed the harness out of it before I got it :idiot:
I’m wondering if anybody knows what these open/capped plugs are for? This is the drivers side right under the brake booster and cruise control vac canister.
87 f250 6.9 4x4 originally an auto c6, in the process of swapping in a zf5.
First plug has a cap on it. Wire colors are Red, yellow...
That’s kinda what I was thinking. Would you remove the sleeve and use the seal I have, or would you recommend getting a new seal with a sleeve?
I guess that depends on how the crank looks under the sleeve…
Started working on replacing my rear main seal while I have the trans out to swap it, only to realize after cleaning up the plate that there is already a wear sleeve on my crank. I ordered the felpro BS40011 rear main kit, which is the one that says to install dry and it doesn’t use a wear...
That’s exactly what I’m looking for. I have a 25 minute commute to work on the highway every morning and I hated revving this thing out all the way just to keep up with traffic. But hey at least I know my cooling system is in good shape
Actually, I just found this about 2 hours from me. Could I just use the bottom hoop off a bullnose core support? Looks like it has the mounting tabs for the condenser
Theoretically, if I were to buy a diesel core support for a 92-97 truck, would I be able to cut off the bottom hoop and the side mounting points and weld it onto my core support? I know the way the fenders mount is different but from what I’ve seen on the forums it looks like the bottom hoop and...
