Hey, thought I would join the forum since there seems to be quite a few idi guys on here.
I'm Shaun from Broken Arrow Oklahoma, I'm a diesel mechanic at a local Tulsa Ford dealership. Ive had various trucks, but I just purchased my first diesel.
I managed to pick up this 1992 F250 for $900, it was non running, eventually we did get it to start off ether, and it ran for about 1/2 mile, then died. while it was running it was overfueling badly. I got it back to the shop, started pulling it apart. I did a compression test, the test ranged between 350-400psi, I considered this to be good, since the previous owner said that it hadn't been run in a few months. while pulling injectors I found that several of them were passing combustion gas and had bad copper washers on the bottom.
So the plans are
8 new glow plugs
8 Very low mileage injectors(delphi got them cheap from another tech.)
New Fuel Line Return Kit
Injection Pump(we determined that is the problem.)
