My 6.9 was kind of doing the same thing. Dropped the injection pump off at Thompson valley diesel in scotch creek BC. They fixed it up for 900$ Canadian. Put it back in and truck runs flawless now. They pop tested my injectors at the same time.
Thank you. I have them ordered and they should be here next Thursday. What a pain finding these. I have never ordered anything from rock auto. Usually just hit my local parts store. Cheers!
This works perfect in the States but for some reason NAPA Canada doesn’t have this available. I can’t even get it shipped to me from NAPA online. Anyone from the north have any luck finding these?
Can anyone help me find a part number for the front leaf spring front upper shackle bushing. I have replaced the 2 main ones on the leafs but no one can seem to find me the smaller ones for the shackles. It’s for a 1983 F-250 with the Dana 50 axle. My local supply store sells Moog. Thanks.
I work on lots of Waukesha and cat engines for gas compression also on the instrument side of things. We have big pre/post lube for those. I got it lubed up after about 20 cranks. Put my deadweight on it and I have around 7psi at idle. I have yet to get it above 1000rpm but at 1000 I had around...
Does anyone have a picture or diagram of how the power steering pump mounts. I seem to be missing one peice that I’m assuming is slotted and maybe goes to the water pump? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
please delete. I found my missing bracket!
I have a harness from an 85 6.9 that looks really good I would just give you if it would work. Just the engine side of the harness. I will post a picture later
All mine were mushroomed when I got my truck. Used a slide hammer with the vise grips threaded to the end and tapped them all out no issue. Thought I was screwed but it was no big deal. Put new ones in and all good.
I pulled the starter out of my engine tonight and am going to crank it over and check to see if it makes a bit of oil pressure and check compression. Should a guy pour a bit of oil down the glow plugs before cranking? This is only my bush/sled hauling rig so I’m not looking for big power...
I just picked up this 85 6.9 that was supposedly rebuilt for a truck 15 years ago and then never got used. It’s been stored in the back corner of a garage and now the guy that had it’s moving and sold it to me for 350$. It’s got fresh oil in it and looks real good. I’m swapping out my engine in...
Ya I have an older gas engine with a compressor with a sump. Was going to see if I could make brackets work. Was more wondering if it will make much air. Might build a new rear bumper out of pipe for a tank. It’s a bush truck so air is handy on the logging roads if you get a flat.
Anyone ever turn their air conditioning compressor into an air compressor. I’m pulling my 6.9 to do heads and gaskets and was just going to plumb the compressor into a small tank for filling tires.
