Soooo. Doing my test last night (removing the trailer plug adapter) the trans worked fine! Went to the parts store to get a HD flasher. He hands me the exact same one that is already in the truck. Head lights connected to the - torque converter!
Anyone know why the torque conv bounces in and out of lock up when the head lights are on! :confused:(And only when the lights are on!) It's a flat bed w/stepside style tail lights and a plug in adapter for a four prong trailer plug. (Which I'm about to remove to check for any differance.) It...- stever8761

Cowl Air?
Do you think there is enough room (after cutting the holes) to get some sound deadener in the cowl? Think I would help any? The launching would be okay - being new to a diesel I'm surprised how quite the truck is while cruisin. I guess I'll have to get the radio fixed so that I can turn it up...- stever8761

Looking at some other threads it seems that adding a turbo to a 180k + engine is not recommended. I've got some time before I'll really need the extra power to bet up the mtns in NC, so I'm saving my pennies - check that - my fives, so that I can rebuild the motor w/ the turbo on it. I'm hearing the same thing from the Tbird guys - taking a good well rounded car - a little underpowered - and going retro with it just to seal its fate cookoo ! And now the Mustang has nearly the same size specs as the 89 - 97 Birds.- stever8761

Okay! So I'm a newbie...
What diff did changing the inj pump make? Did you change the injectors also? Do these pumps tend to leak? It appears I have fuel leak on top somewhere! Also does the torque on certain bolts have to be checked regularly? I changed the head gaskets and some of the bolts on the pass side...- stever8761

Okay! So I'm a newbie...
It all helps :D . I'm having fun learning about the beasts. I love the torque these motors put out and I'm already getting better gas mileage than I was with my 1/2 ton with the 350 in it, and which the trans has gone out for the third time now!- stever8761
