    Did a mileage check on the superduty yesterday. Normal driving at 60mph on the freeway got me 16.6mpg. Pretty pumped about that. Speedo has been in-op since for the last 6 months and finally got it fixed.;Sweet

    Drove the Superduty to work today (100 miles round trip) and noticed it needed some loving. Replaced a few glow plugs and fixed a bad end on the glow plug harness. Also cleaned the battery's, changed the gear oil in the axillary transmission and diagnosed a lazy speedo. Driving it to work again...

    Split the engine and trans Saturday to clean and grease a very sticky throwout bearing, it was so stubborn that I could not slide the bearing by hand before cleaning the collar that it slides on. Got it back together and clutch works like a dream now.

    You may want to look into having your battery tested or get a battery with more CCAs for the cold weather. Also if your fuel pump is loosing prime (not sure if it's mechanical or electric on the gassers) you may have the long cranking times due to the fuel draining back to the tank over night...

    :) thank you, my grand father bought it off the lot in 1989 and designed the flatbed to have it built. He passed away earlier last year and I inherited the old girl. She just turned 160k on the clock and drives like a dream.

    Yeah I remember being young and my grandpa would give me a dollar so sit there for what seemed like hours rubbing them down with some steel wool haha

    I thought about heat shields but if I did that the would be to close to the edge of the door, if do some reason you got your fingers between the door and the pipes it would be very painful. But I think your right about them not getting to hot sticking out that far.

    Yeah that would be a bad deal, kids getting burnt by the stacks. When I was real young my grandpa had stacks on this truck (before they rotted off) and I don't remember getting burnt my self... I guess I'll just have to be careful. Were expecting our first kid here in April so it should be while...

    I work for a company that contracts with the US Military (we build the Stryker) My job consist of nothing but 3126 and C7 engine work as well as dyno testing every engine. I have worked on hundreds of 3126s and have only seen catastrophic failure due to solders filling the intake with water...

    The crew cab is a 5 speed with a 6" lift, he picked it up for $3500 with only 155k on the clock. The previous owner had to many vehicles for his neighborhood so he had to sell it quick.

    Lol, so far your good! I've got a total of 4 kits at the house right now but they are all spoken for. I'm always looking on Craigslist for deals. I'll let you know if I find the oil line.
