I've used acetone in the past it's suposed to help keep the blends together 1 ounce per 10 gallon cant prove ether way it is a octane though. Sound like you need more Centane have you tryed the turpintine or a good centane booster Amsoil is the best I've found Diesel clean is a close second...- pvc4440

Are you using fresh gas or old gas old gas works better as some of the aromatics are lost reducing octane you might try adding 1 ounce of pure gum turpintine to the mix for every 10 gallons to help raise the centane.
