E4OD nightmare!!
Well, I’m finally down to just one code presenting itself and giving me fits. I don’t recall the Code #, but it was FIPL out of range. I checked it, set it at 1.2VDC @warm idle, and the best I can get is 3.5VDC @WOT. If I set it for 4.5VDC @WOT, then it’s showing 2.2VDC @ idle. I am convinced...- Old Red Wagon

Thewespaul, I’d love about any option that would get my truck running right. The 5-spd would be great, but my clutch knee is shot, for the second time. And your transmission would be fine too, if Texas wasn’t so far away!!- Old Red Wagon

Come on guys!! Somebody has to know the answer to these dreaded E4OD transmissions!! I have replaced the VSS, the MLPS, the Solenoid Pack and the connector, and the FIPL. I bought this truck BECAUSE of the mechanical attributes. I’m about to swap the tranny for a C-6, but I’ve got too much...- Old Red Wagon

Well, I had ordered a new connector for the solenoid pack, so I soldered it into the harness, plugged it in, disconnected the NEG on both batteries for over an hour. Steve, I can’t open the file that you shared. I bit the bullet this morning and replaced all of the relays. Nothing changed. The only things left, I think, are the computer and the harness. I’m about to give up.- Old Red Wagon

Steve, I just got it adjusted correctly so that I’m reading 1.2 and 4.0! That wasn’t as much fun as it looks on TV!! Test drive proved no changes. I have now replaced the VSS (speedo still bounces above about 50mph), the solenoid pack, the MLPI (neutral safety switch), and the FIPL (TPS). I am...- Old Red Wagon

UPDATE: I bought a new FIPL in hopes that it would be the solution to all of my issues. Unfortunately, it has proven to create more problems. I've tried everything that I can think of, but i can NOT get 1.2VDC at idle AND 4.0VDC at WOT. What am I doing wrong?- Old Red Wagon

Testing E4OD Solenoid Pack and Code referrence.
Guys and gals, I want everyone to know that I GREATLY appreciate and the advice and tips!! I’m learning FAST in here. One thing I noticed last night, the OD has started to flash now. Does it flash a code? Mine just blinks on and off at a steady rate.- Old Red Wagon

It’s pretty obvious that I’m no expert either. My engine is an IDI with factory turbo. I thought my solenoid pack would be in worse shape than the “new trans”, so I installed it all as a package. My thought was that “if the connectors are the same..” Did I mention that I do NOT get paid to think?- Old Red Wagon
