Hi,
Looking for some help. I have a 6.9 manual 4 speed with a noise coming from the engine or maybe clutch area? I can only hear the noise when the truck is in idle, it does not go away if I engage or disengage the clutch. It does go away as soon as I get going in first or second gear. No sure...
I can't find the sending unit.
So..
Can I replace my rear tank with a 1985 rear tank that has the 4 1/4 opening so that I can use the 1985 sending unit?
Local pick a part has the 1985 tank for $45.00 and it might be worth it to get past this issue.
1984 F350 Diesel 6.9.
My sending unit doesn't work. No one has it and at one point found a link here on maybe using a 1985 rear tank sending unit. Can't find the link again. Or maybe someone has a resolution?
Thanks in advanced.
Thanks, that helps
How do i find the tech articles? For example if I want to see if anyone has written up a tech on how to swap from a 6.9 to 7.3 glow plug? I've looked around and don't see a tech page.
Thanks dgr. That picture helps, now i can wire it up. How does the glow plugs know to turn off? I'm wondering why they disconnected and don't want to burn the new glow plugs.
I'm trying to get the glow plugs up and running again. This is a new purchase 1984 6.9 idi. The Glow plugs relay has nothing connected to it other than the power from battery. There are several lose cables,I have a orange/white and a orange/green a purple and black. I would like to bring glow...
It started. Honestly I can't believe it. As it turns out the truck had a kill switch to the ip. Once I found that then I started seeing diesel out of the injectors. Again thank's to everyone I learned a lot installing the pump.
i want to say thanks to everyone for the help so far. I have the electric fuel pump installed. I'm trying to bleed the fuel lines. I can get diesel up to the Schroeder valve. I crack an injection line and crack for 5 to 10 seconds at a time but no diesel comes out. Any advice as to what my next...
I'm getting ready to purchase Facet Dura-Lift Fuel Pump. I noticed on the tutorial on this site they are using the 4 psi pump. I sit ok to use the
DIESEL DURA-LIFT ELECTRONIC FUEL PUMP 33GPH 9-11.5 PSI ?
I'm about to replace the rear and front tank sending units. Should I buy OEM or Ebay the parts? I'm about to press buy now but i hate to work on the tank again if the part does't last.
OK, So I replaced the oil and oil filter. I also replaced the fuel filter and filled it with fuel before installing. Then I started bleeding the fuel lines as per YouTube videos giving the starter 10 second cranks. I have a fuel jug connected to the pig tail hose going into the fuel pump. After...
I got the hose disconnected. should I bleed the line? The oil on the stick is black and think, probably a good idea to replace it before turning the engine. The truck has been sitting for 4 years.
