Extra power, then died?
Worked at it some more yesterday. Im getting tons of fuel to the pump, and when I pulled the return line off and cranked it I got tons of fuel coming out the hose there too. So does that mean my injection pump is definitely good, and I should be looking at injectors? Or is it possible the...- Mike-M

Got to work on it again after work yesterday. Still no progress. Couldnt even get a puff of smoke by pumping the throttle like last week. I think im going to take my injection pump off, take it apart to see how it works and if theres anything wrong in there. Question - Is the fuel heater...- Mike-M

I had off today and got to work on it for a while before the snow got too heavy. 30 degrees out but I ran the block heater for a few hours before hand, cant hurt. Batteries charged overnight, cranked nice and fast. Just holding the pedal down, i got nothing. 15 seconds at a time, no...- Mike-M

Ok I replaced the fuel filter today. With the filter outlet line disconnected, it flows out of there pretty fast now. Still just drips (if that) from the injector line I i disconnected next. Do I need to remove all 8 lines to bleed the pump?- Mike-M

I disconnected the outlet of the fuel filter, its flowing real well there. Closed that and opened 2 injector lines, just a very slow drip from them. With the key on, I unplugged/plugged the FSS wire, and it does click.- Mike-M

One came off the vacuum sensor, i dont think that would cause fuel delivery problems. The other looks like it goes to the bottom of the fuel filter housing, but that feels to be a threaded drain on the bottom of it. Much better idea than putting a catch hose on the schrader!! Ok so Im...- Mike-M

On the second tank, after cranking for 10 seconds it sputtered a little, then fired up for 1 second, blew a nice big cloud, and died. 15 minutes later I was able to get it to do that one more time. Driving home on the highway last night and out of nowhere it had more power than ive ever felt before from my idi. It was as if a gremlin snuck in there and cranked up my fuel pump all the way. Boost remained constant at 2-3 psi which is normal. My first thought was "F Yeah!" but then I...- Mike-M

What did my truck cost new?
Im just curious. I have a '90 XLT Lariat ext cab 4x4. About how much would it have cost at the dealership 25 years ago? I just spec'd out a '15 equivalent to mine and it was just under $63k :eek:- Mike-M

Im assembling a T18 that I took apart many months ago, and I have a piece left over. I dont remember removing it, and I dont see it anywhere on my diagram. Brake light out. Turn signal switch?
Theres really nothing tricky about it. just make sure you order teh right switch, as you see a few of us didnt. Remove horn remove steering wheel remove all the collar like pieces that go around the steering column remove the 2 little pieces of dashboard below the steering column drop...- Mike-M

The button you have to push to get the key out
What is the proper name for it? And more importantly, Is there any good reason not to disable or remove it? My steering column is already apart right now so it'd be real easy to rig that thing up.- Mike-M
