Buying a VW TDI--Questions
I have a 2005 mk5 Jetta 1.9 brm 5 speed. I had to put a little love into it but Its great and I will drive it until I don't want to anymore. 45+ mpg. cheap and easy upgrades. My electric motor/pump was totally corroded and trash when it was removed so I put a bit of rtv sealant on the rubber seal to help it out in the cavity.- MICHAEL MICHAUD

No Windshield Washer Squirters
Inside the washer fluid reservoir there's a tiny motor. Replace it. When you activate the washer fluid switch you should hear a relay click inside the cab. No click you gotta replace the relay. Also. Make sure fluid res has washer fluid in it. Bought my replacement on Amazon. Works great.- MICHAEL MICHAUD

So if it's the Facet pumps that we are suspecting is the issue do we have a few alternative brands with improved designs that we could test? No electrical power at all
Alternator might have went out on you not charging Batts anymore. Check your batteries. Make sure those are fully charged. When you have fully charge batteries, what happens? If your truck decides it wants to run again guess what you have a bad alternator. I'm not sure if these trucks have this...- MICHAEL MICHAUD

You know I keep a tool box, jumper cables, first aid kit etc in my cars to stay prepared. Something about keeping an aftermarket spare fuel pump on hand just seems a bit too prepared lol. Wow okay. I was pretty happy with my pump but I have always thought my truck was slightly gutless especially up hill with a load. 1990 7.3 Fuel filters keep needing changed ever 20 miles
I installed a Facet electric lift pump in my truck. 120” pull on that baby Prime's everything and even pulls from the tank in almost no time at all. I was having a backlight and headlight issue. That harness was loose fitting and it fixed all my issues. I have an aftermarket radio as well but I didn't have to even look that far for my lighting solution so I can't comment on that. Hopefully you can fix it much easier. 7.3 idi coolant in oil
I would be weary of any gaskets anywhere after a truck has sat still for 8 years. The gaskets depend on oil to stay fresh. They dry out and lose integrity. Sounds like you've got to pull your heads. You might want to do water pump and front plate gaskets since you're going to be in deep already...- MICHAEL MICHAUD

The fuse for the wait to start light is under the hood in fuse box on the driver side. I had the same problem it was a blown fuse. It's Fuse K in the power distribution box.
