It might be the valve then that it's missing. Yeah, probably needs new glow plugs but I don't have the time to work on it personally.- man2112

For sale is a 1989 Ford F-250 longbed 7.3 IDI DIESEL pickup truck. $3500 It’s not without it’s flaws, but would make a solid work truck for someone. Sticky fuel shutoff solenoid in IP?
I was reading on a tractor forum today about hooking up an air line to one of the injection lines from the injector side to try and un-stick the plungers. Has anyone heard of this or tried it? I was thinking of taking a syringe and filling the injection lines with diesel kleen and back...- man2112

Merry Christmas to you too! The weird part is that everything moved freely in there already. The only thing I was concerned about is the one spring seems like it was too compressed and not springy enough? I’m going to let it soak until probably after Christmas as I’m busy at work all this week- man2112

I’ve run it with both. The harness is giving 12v to the solenoid, and I’ve also junpered it to make sure it was getting 12v- man2112

Alright guys, sorry fir the vertical video, but here’s what she looks like inside after I siphoned all of the diesel out of the top. After filming this, I filled the pump up with a mix of diesel kleen and marvel mystery oil and I’m going to let it sit until probably after Christmas- man2112

Nevermind the idling DT466 in the background, I was using it to jump start this truck. This was after bleeding all the supply lines and cranking it for a while- man2112

Okay that’s a good idea, just the regular homemade penetrating oil mix. I’ve never disassembled an injection pump before so I didn’t want to mess anything up on accident, but that’s certainly an idea I can try out- man2112

Hey all, I’ve been working on this 1990 7.3 IDI that I’m thinking of buying. It’s been sitting for an indeterminate amount of time. I have it running off of a 12v pump and Jerry can of diesel to the fuel filter. I’m getting good fuel pressure and flow through the filter. All of the fuel returns...- man2112
