Update, the second. I performed a quick inspection of the turbo in-situ....... It's smoked. No axial play, but there is enough radial play to allow the compressor wheel to hit the housing. As an update, a year later (cough cough), reinstalling the mechanical fan did not make a significant difference. What I did notice is that with the electric fans and my controls, I didn't have to worry about thermal overshoot. The delay in the fan clutch locking actually netted a slightly higher...- krogo

Sorry for the delay, Life.... Since the heads were off, after I cleaned them, I flooded the bores with brake cleaner to flush out the pre-chambers. I'm not certain I'd do this with the heads still installed. The bore cleaner didn't make a big mess and I'd imagine if you were sparing, you...- krogo

Well, Queso has been 'done' for two weeks now. I've been struggling to get it done for a trip planned very soon. First fuel economy numbers. Timing question: I know the hive mind has settled on 9.5-8.5* of advance for the generic/mild IDI. I'd like to know how folks with larger turbos and pumps have set theirs up. Current Queso is running about 7* when she's good and hot. As a refresher, Queso has a 110 pump and a 3582/T350 turbo.- krogo

Passengers side seat back was more challenging. Same as before, excavate foam. Install Flow Pad. Install stuff that makes worky! Install Cover: Install seat: Still have to do the trim, but all functions.....function. I are happy. Off to do some drivers side under dash stuff before...- krogo

Installed the seat Heating and cooling system for the Passengers side seat bottom. Marked out where Air distribution pad will be placed. Excavated 3/8 inch of foam from the area and carved out a hole for the duct. Pad glued down. TED (thermoelectric device, makes the hot and cold)...- krogo

Gauge's and Instrument cluster installed. Polished the cluster lens with a headlight polishing kit. Installed a vintage Motorola communications speaker under the dash for the Ham Radio. Yes..... It's Cerakoted.- krogo

Pulled the '08 SD Passengers side seat apart to prepare for the addition of Heat/Cool and re-upholstery. To get the seat bottom cover off, the seat back needs to removed.... Luckily it was easy. Surprisingly, the seat bottom cover was attached with 14 hog rings.... 14!! I'll do pics when I do...- krogo

Carpet, headliner and trim installed. Windshield was installed Monday. Grabbed a late model dome light. Since I have no footwell lights I installed a pair of diodes to light the Map Lights when the Dome light is on. Bulbs are LED, must be LED. The diodes maintain independent control of each...- krogo
