    84 F-350 single cab 4x4 6.9 4spd tan.

Pretty clean and straight. Engine has intake chuff but runs. White smoke under load. Bad heater core. 54k miles on chassis. I have a brand new set of glow plugs that I'll sell with it for $50. Old timer owned since new, young girl bought it and blew up original engine. I swapped in a 85 6.9...

So, Who makes the BEST recovery strap?

Bubba ropes are pretty damn tough. I have one that somebody gave me as a gift after I pulled them out when they were on vacation. I broke my ratchet strap (all I had) trying to pull them out and had to go get a chain. After I refused cash they tracked me down and sent me a bubba. I really...

    My homemade rear bumper.

Looks pretty stout. I like the easy access rings and the overall simplicity. Even if you did hurt it, it wouldn't be hard to straighten and re-paint. You didn't show the back side, but I'd imagine there aren't any places to trap moisture and promote rust. Good job. Is the tow hitch a...

Thank you LCAM. That is exactly what I was looking for. I won't be home until Friday to check it out but now I have something to start from. Thank you again.

    37" Radiator and A/C?

It is aftermarket then. Do you happen to have the belt part #s?

    37" Radiator and A/C?

Was A/C available from the factory with the 37" radiator? Im trying to locate belts and hoses and all I can find is for 31" w/ A/C. I have the 37" and A/C. Trying to find the belts is impossible do to all the different options. Ive never seen the routing of the belts installed, as they were...

What is the best soundinng diesel in a small truck? all done up or stock.

Those old 2 strokes get kind of annoying after a while. I used to work at a place that ran off a 12v92 gen set. Even with a monster donaldson muffler you could hear it all over the site. I like the old 3208 NA and turbos, but even more, I like my 08 ISX that all I hear is a bit of turbo and...

Engine locks up when turned over slow by hand?

The best explanation I can come up with is since there was nothing to hold the IP gear aligned, it was moving around in the gear cover and would catch on something. When I reinstalled the IP, it carried the gear true so it couldn't catch on anything. I have no idea what it was catching on...

Engine locks up when turned over slow by hand?

Well folks after I installed the IP I again attempted to turn the engine over and viola, it spins freely. So for future reference if your IP is out and you try to turn the engine over, you may run into some resistance. Ok, a lot of resistance. But don't freak out until you re-install the IP...

Engine locks up when turned over slow by hand?

Thats a good testament to why I always turn an engine over by hand before I even think of hitting the starter. Good catch, luckily it didn't cost you too much headache. I looked at it closer and realized that it isn't the type of filter separator I am used to. At a quick glance it looks...

Engine locks up when turned over slow by hand?

I have not removed the heads. I had the pan off and checked the rods and mains and cylinder walls and cleaned the oil pump. Im not sure what a could see with the heads off that I can't see through the Intake and exhaust ports with my bore scope, which showed no rust on the valves. I also put...

Engine locks up when turned over slow by hand?

The glow plugs were OK with only some Kroil I had put on the cylinder walls before I tried to roll it over. They were a tad swollen(autolites), but not enough that I couldn't pull them by gently turning and pulling with pliers. I rolled it over until the exhaust valve was open on each cylinder...

Engine locks up when turned over slow by hand?

I asked a question about that here earlier and after some searching, I found a page from IH that said its not possible for the IP gear to un-mesh with the gear cover in place. I also tried to wiggle and turn it by hand and was unable to get it to skip a tooth. Im headed down to try it here...

Engine locks up when turned over slow by hand?

If I turn it as fast as I can by hand, it is not a problem. If I just roll it over like normal it locks up. When it stops it takes a lot of force to reverse it. I have about a 14" ratchet I was using to roll it over, and to reverse it I have to use a 36" pry bar on two sockets on two pulley...
