No I didn’t remove the cover. Straight out and back in off the keyway- Hector06

I just replaced a worn out injector pump and while I was priming it I had good compression and good hard cranks. Halfway through the first crank after priming the motor I lost compression all exhaust quit coming out the tail pipe and proceeded to start spitting diesel fumes out my turbo intake...- Hector06
