Vacuum canister

Dana 60 turn radius
The dana 60 has a better turning radius than the dana 50 ttb. My truck is an F-250 super cab with a D60 swapped in, and the difference in turning radius is very noticeable. I tried to tighten the one bolt holding my vacuum pump on, and i found out why it was loose. The pivot bolt went MIA, and the hole in the bracket for the adjustment bolt was stripped. Water pump install advice needed sooner than later.
Some new pump bodies have different heights where the bolts go in, so if you re-use the old long bolts on a short housing, they'll be too long and the ends of the bolts will grind against the timing gear inside your engine. Only the 4 center bolts need RTV, the rest of the bolts don't see oil or coolant. @ OP: i used Aviation Form-a-gasket on both sides of my water pump gasket, and grey RTV for the 4 center bolts. Truck Registration
Last year it was $240, this year it was $298. For comparison, my 2012 VW was $280 last year when I bought it and $230 this year. The "weight fee" on my IDI goes up every year. I feel no shame at all for my use of a bungee cord LOL Funny side detail: never once since i've owned the truck have I ever loosened the vacuum pump bolts. Because sometimes, when you're sleeping, little gremlins come out and steal bolts from trucks that won't die. I found something today that could have been a bad day for me, but a catastrophic day for a stock truck. This is just one more reason I love hydroboost.
