Oh...that smell...
I've already reamed the tube with a 5/16" bit. Banks states that 1150-1200* at the exhaust port is 1050* at the turbo pedestal thermocouple location, but I was only ever able to touch on 850* once, and just barely. Even at higher elevation after rough bumping the timing, I could barely touch on...- crash-harris

I can't get the my mag probe into the tube on my timing marks (tech-time), but after checking the correct thread regarding these prices, I'll be taking the spring clip off when I try next. I had the crew cab set at about 9.5*, but EGT's would climb pretty fast, so I don't know how the fueling...- crash-harris

Oh...that smell...
For those that know what hot cast iron smells like, and also have a wastegated Banks Sidewinder... Have you ever smelled that super hot cast iron smell while on long trips? This is now the second time Thumper has made the 400+ mile run over the mountains to the in-laws, and it's the second time...- crash-harris

Intake manifold bolt won't thread back in
Yes, I'm removing an old thread, because this seems to be the only other instance of this in the great wide web... I'm in the same boat. Pulled this same bolt (#5 intake, closest to #7) to do glow plugs a month or so ago and got it back in with a crowbar and some pressure on the Banks...- crash-harris

Thank you both. I looked over some more schematics last night and there are actually multiple red/lt green wires on the IDI equipped trucks, only just the one for the charging circuit on the gassers.- crash-harris

I noticed that. I was not able to get my filter head heater to seal on this truck for some reason (never had issues with the crew cab), but it's like to find one at the rear of the engine (#7 cylinder area). Tapping the FSS Wire
Thanks Trike! Isn't the red/green stripe the alternator trigger? I've converted to a 3G alternator (actually swapped/robbed my conversation from the crew cab). I thought all the FSS wires are solid red 10 gauge? It's been a long time since I dug the one on the crew cab out to tap it, but it's...- crash-harris

Somehow, every form of search had failed me, so here I am again, trying to find a good spot on the FSS wire to tap into for my fuel pump relay (electric lift pump install on Thumper). Instead of cutting the terminal off on the IP side and crimping on a new one with yet another wire jammed in it...- crash-harris

Some is, yes. I was just alarmed at how loud this one is. I'm going to attribute it to the transition internals just being in so much better shape than the ZF5 in the crew cab. Both trucks are running N/A 7.3L blocks, but this one has a wastegated sidewinder on it. Even with it's sticky...- crash-harris

My crew cab has much more fork wobble/vibration than this one, and that was with a brand new fork. I thought gear rollover could be in neutral too? There are still gears meshing in neutral. I actually get less grown if lugging this truck than the crew cab, but I've attributed that to this truck...- crash-harris

That's so strange. At idle, you can hear it louder than anything from a distance away from the truck, but the crew cab with the same clutch kit is quiet. Perhaps the jars in this one aren't as worn? Both transmissions were rebuilt before I bought the trucks, but the ZF5 in the crew cab has never...- crash-harris

I made sure that thing was tight when I was under there. The crew cab never had one. That cover can rattle when speed but not when moving? It's worth a shot I guess.- crash-harris

Noticed something since I've been driving it and it really has me scratching my head. When coasting I'm neutral, the clutch doesn't rattle at all, until I get under about 15 mph. Rear Slider Replacement?
Still attending to some things on the new truck (Thumper in signature) and one of them is replacing the thin plexi Sunshine rear window patch with glass. The big question...
