The Park Brake on the disc brakes is just like a drum brake. The inner part of the disk is actually the drum for the e-brake. Unfortunately you have to pull the axles back out, and then pull the disk off, and if the shoes are bad, it's a best bet to just replace the disk too. Especially since it...
EZ,
I work for a construction company with about 20 F-450, 6.0's with auto trans and even at extended change intervals on the trans, we still service them every 20,000mi. That's a filter and fluid. So yeah, yer due for a trans fluid change.
Ummm, correct me if I am wrong here.
So what about the application of CAT engines in OTR trucks? About half the OTR trucks have CAT engines in them. I believe that would be considered a non-CAT application, as OTR trucks are universal to which engine you use. You can pull a Cummins out and...
Give me a Kitty.. MEOW... LOL
I go to school at Pittsburg State University, and we got a master truck tech as an instructor here that used to turn wrenches for Joplin Freightliner. He always seemed to like the N-11's. I cant remember why, but he was a definite Cummins man.
Personally, there...
Oh geez Bob... LOL
I am pretty sure if he just got qualified to do repairs on all those engines, that he would know the difference between a temp sensor and a pressure sensor.. LOL Besides, you dont need a pressure sensor on the DPF to burn up, its probably located in the exhaust further...
Bob, sorry to burst your bubble, but all diesel engines suffer from cavitation erosion. Its due to the spike in pressure in the cylinders when the fuel/air mixture ignites. The bigger the engine the worse the erosion.
The cavitation I speak of isnt the same thing as cavitating a pump. Its not...
what a quandry....
Actually if that happens, and GM did boy Dodge out, then the Cummins contract would have to be rewrote. In that case then the contract could be put up for bid, and Ford could come up with a Cummins option in their SD lineup..
I truly dont think that GM would do away...
HMMM
Actually I think it not only will strengthen the block, but also help reduce cavitation erosion on the cylinder walls due to them being all attached and bein able to use all the cylinders to dampen the shock from combustion in the chambers.
Add to that that, the higher temps in the...
Well now its gone to include the price that Ford has to pay for the 6.4L too.. So now the lawsuit has both engines involved..
Dont you just love Navistar... LOL I was hopin this would do in the Ford/Navistar deal, and GM would buy Chrysler and get rid of the dodge truck line, and Ford could...
Now arent you glad I sent you here Chasman3?? LOL
See guys I find this poor fella snoopin round the usenet forums, and sent him here. I knew one of you brainiacs would have the solution to his problem..
Thanks for proving me right Stroker...
Actually it didnt really have anything to do with the steering column. It was the cruise cut off switch in the master cylinder shorting out and catching the brake fluid on fire.. Looks like thats where yours originated from.. Alot of insurance companies are makin Ford buy the trucks back, thats...
Awesome buddy.. Sounds like yer a kid again with a new toy.. LOL :rotflmao
Sounds like the normall parts screwups behind the counter there.. LOL Maybe you should tell them to order a whatchamacallit, and I bet they get it right...:D
I would tell him that to "chip" it doesnt do much in itself, just changes the shift points and how much fuel it injects. He should change out to an open breather system like K&N, and possibly change out to an ATVS turbo. Basically if you do a small upgrade others are required to fully appreciate...
So why not do the ambulance recalibration on them when they come in. That way if they are going to idle for a long period of time, they just have to hit the "E" brake and it automatically goes high idle...
No need to change the fan clutch or do anything else the TSB says to do, cause you...
The lugnuts you have on their are the ones that are almost 2.5" long, and have a chamfered shoulder to contact the wheel.
As for finding a wheel to match, check out a couple of your local tire dealers that handle wheels as well. That looks like the american racing type of wheel out local...
