oil pump
yes, ck 4 'galling' (scars). "...And if your pump is bad get another stock one don’t buy aftermarket...." how is this done? I've gone to ford for parts (& been laughed @) just a few yrs old - "No, out of stock, too old!" get lost... ID maker & contact them?- chrlsful

Alternative diesel fuel
we use straight fryer oil (filtered only). To me "biofuel" is just adding lye (is it?) diesel, etc. They're puttin ina plant 4 it here. We cheep out, triple filter down the hill like above, start/stop (just 5 min) on 1 tank (diesel) an run on tuther (used, filtered, straight fri-o-later veg...- chrlsful

What's your favorite method for degreasing an IDI?
simple green & purple power are our local (WessMass) solutions. Spray'n scrape anything U can 1st! Plop into a bucket. I believe covering 1 or 2 components /or/cautious direction of spray to B enuff for 'safety' @ the 2nd stage @ car wash. The car wash has special equp (by local law) to take...- chrlsful

Blades hit the hose? - grind off the extra length on the plastic fan blades. Try'n do it equally so it stays in good balance.- chrlsful

wouldn't take off the sheet metal, leave it in its own "engine stand" & 'go to town"? Nah, too many ancillaries still in the way, too many nuts 2 spin...- chrlsful

wonder if when old tube is removed w/o braking if U can slip the two together (hacksaw in 1/2) & braze @ joint to make another. This way the old bigger 1/2 can connect w/pan and the newer be available for use? May B that's what U meant above w/: "...try to get the broken upper tube out of the...- chrlsful
