    Cheap ZF-5 4x4 Trans

    The Zf I installed in my powerstroke is from a 460 truck, the only thing I had to do is drill two of the holes to 5/8" to fit over the dowell pins the rest I left alone and installed. Works great except the Gear ratios are different in the gasser one I got.

    What should I check on a used 7.3

    One quick easy thing you can do is pullthe intake hose off of the turbo and look at the fins, look under the fuel canisterand turbo in the intake valley for excessive fuel or oil. theres a start!:rolleyes:

    if you have the full banks powerpack it should come with an intake system they put alot of research into everything they do, and told me the only restriction in the 94-97 stock intake was the stock tubing. But I'm not saying it can't be improved.

    I have been using synthetic motor oil for years how well does it burn or has any body tried it. it would be nice to use it instead of hauling it of for recycle.

    the problem with open air setup is as opposed to factory in 94-97 is the intake temperature is from under the hood with no intercooler to add density to the air

    finally a road test..

    Best thing you can do is unbolt the cowl(lot of work) clean it out the factory drain holes are probably cloged leaving water in their to rust a new escape route, i had the same problem on an '86 I once had.
