Yeah, seems like there is all kinds of information out there. The axle was my original plan, but swapping just the gears seems like a pain, and from what I've learned there are a lot of variables to replacing the whole axle. Awesome thanks. That makes it easier. Would turning up the fuel provide more fuel all the time or would that just allow a higher max fuel consumption? Also would an intercooler help with fuel consumption or is that mostly for increased power?- Charles Moore

So sounds like Id be mostly fine just getting the factory turbo bits and putting them on. I'm not looking for big power at all, primarily I want better MPGs really. What parts would I need? Hi, I'm thinking my next upgrade will be to get boosted. I could use the extra power on long steady climbs, and better MPG's are always a good thing. Is it worth it to search for factory turbo engine and then swap it all in? Or should I just try to find the turbo bits and just add those on...- Charles Moore

Brake time. Hydroboost too??
The bus has been pulling to the right when braking lately. I figure the caliper is sticking, so I'm going to replace the front calipers. Are there any obvious upgrades? Otherwise I'll probably get some Napa ones . While I'm at it, I figured its time to at least look into the hydroboost...- Charles Moore

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I put a K&N air filter in a few months back. With the exhaust now coming out the side, I can see the smoke coming out of the exhaust much clearer while driving. I noticed two things: -White smoke comes out when the engine is cold -Lots of black smoke when going up...- Charles Moore

Yes, I thought about that but it seemed like an extra hassle everytime I want to go for a ride. I've already moved the exhaust so it comes out from the side and got a bike rack for the back and its been working great. Yeah, I'm always moving around but I get biodiesel when I can. Yeah a turbo would be nice! I might have to hunt for a crashed truck or van with a turbo IDI and swap that over. Id never heard of the smoke puff limiter before. Thanks for the recommendation! I'll have to look into that- Charles Moore

I'd like to put some bikes on a bike rack on the back of my bus . But the exhaust fumes get all over everything back there and I don't want the bikes to get covered in that exhaust soot . Cool thanks. I suppose a factory 6.9 IDI cruise control would be the same. I imagine I'd need the cruise control unit under the hood w/ related cables.
