You will need a radiator mount from a diesel or you will have to do some fabrication work. The radiator in the gasser will be too far back for the Cummins and the fan will hit. I swapped a Cummins out of a D250 into a Ramcharger a few years ago. You can see some pics and all my notes at This...
In my opinion and experience...If you like being towed go with the IDI. If you like towing then go with the Cummins. I have informed my wife that I will not work on her F350 7.3 IDI any more unless it is to yank it out and replace it with a Cummins. Her F350 is parked right now and will stay...
When you replace it scrape the paint off of the firewall where the screws mount so it will get a good ground. That's what my buddy at the alternator shop told me to do when I was blowing them about every 4- 6 months. It's been over a year now since I replaced the last one. It was so bad at one...
Check this thread. I'm not sure if it will fit. I don't know how the adapters come. It's for a Ford but if you can get adapters it may be worth looking at. And it's an over/under drive. Needs solenoid.

There is a wire going into the top of the fuel filter housing and I have air and diesel bubbles around it. What holds this wire on and how do I get it off. I don't want to break anything.....yet. If the housing is cracked is there a better setup than stock?
Thanks, Whit. Good information. Understand how something works makes it easier to work on. I also found This Link which has the same photos as the first link I posted but has a little better explanation of the process.
Thanks for the replies.
It's that EXACTLY part the bugs me. I am confident that I can do it but ever since I've owned the Cummins it has only taken a bump of the key to get her started. I just hope I can get it back that way.
Well, I guess it's time to learn how to rebuild a Bosch VE injection pump. It's leaking more than it's burning. Have any of you guys ever rebuilt your own pump? I've got the seal kit and I've got this link VW_Pump_Rebuild . The link is for a pump from a 4 cylinder but should be about the same...
My 1990 Dodge Ramcharger has been repaired with a kit. It was like that when I purchased it for the Cummins swap. IIRC there are some years of Dodge trucks with recalls regarding the frame cracking at the steering box. A quick search found some recalls on Dakota models. I don't have much...
Have you ever noticed that when you CHOOSE to do something to your truck it is always more enjoyable than when you MUST do something to your truck.
Oh well, I should just make it a project and rebuild the G360 while I'm at it. It's about due. I'm also going to change the placing of the spacers...
