ATF+4 is now available in the auto parts stores made by Valvoline. It's a real, licensed by Chrysler ATF+4, not a universal fits all fluid. It's full synthetic.- BigSix

Changing the tranny oil
ATF+4 if fine to use in the 46RE or 46RH. It's a synthetic ATF+3. ATF+3 is available in autoparts stores if he wants to just do a pan drop filter and fluid change. I've done all of mine that way. Damn it I got the vibs.
Hate to hear that... I got rid of my '03 Cummins powered Ram for the dreaded driveline vibration. It was not motor. I could shut the motor off at 70 and coast down through the 68mph vibration speed and it was bad enough to rattle change in the ashtray. It was about the frequency of one of those...- BigSix

Frame problems?
You can weld or drill to the frame. There's a TSB on the guidelines to follow just like every other frame has had drilling or welding guidelines to follow. IF... the frame fails due to your crappy welding or drilling of the frame, it's on your nickel. This is no different than it's ever been...- BigSix

Dodge Dakota?
We sure like our '01 Durango with 4.7L and 45RFE tranny. The 4.7L is suseptible to sludge like many others. DC recommends we use oil that meets Chrysler's MS-6395 requirements as well as API ILSAC GF-4 certification. Each motor is different with it's sliding cam followers, timing chain or gears...- BigSix

There was an '01 QC long bed with V-10 and auto I would have liked to have bought at a car lot close by a couple of months ago. It was in great shape. I love my cummins!!!!!
I drove a blue '90 in '95. I would have bought it but my Mrs didn't like it. It had a 727 3spd auto with 3.07 ratio rear end. No intercooler and one battery.
